From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly and helpful owner and his amazing family, who ensured a warm welcome and served for us delicious lunch (the dining experience was truly a delight). One of the highlights of this homestay is its’ beautiful view from the terrace: you can sea the Lovers Leap waterfall and tea plantations (walking distance). The room is spacious and cosy, even with the patchwork rug on the floor. There’s also a nice common living room. Overall, our stay at S and D Homestay was exceptional. The combination of the hospitable family, delightful meals, beautiful view and the refreshing cool air made it a remarkable experience.

When we came Suresh and his staff welcomed us with open arms and immediately took care of our luggage where you don’t see everywhere. We got to have a conversation with Suresh himself for 1.5 hours about him and his life and to say the least he was one of the most interesting people we have ever met and I mean that in a good way. His way of thinking is extraordinary and he got a beautiful vision of what life is. Our needs and questions was taken care of as quickly and Suresh and his staff could and they even washed our clothes. Me and my girlfriends best stay in Sri Lanka without a doubt. Next time we’re going to Sri Lanka we are coming back here.

The country house has family rooms. We really enjoyed our stay at Magnolia Hideout. We were welcomed with tea by our nice host Madusanka. He was very kind and helpfull. The view is magnificient and Nuwara Eliya was perfect. The rooms were perfect and big, with a clean bathroom and hot water. We should have stayed at least 2 nights instead of 1. A true recommendation.

We felt taken care of from the moment we arrived at Nanu Oya station (where the host waited for us with a cute name sign and his car to bring us) till the end when the owner dropped us of at te station. The owner is a wonderful tourguide as well, we went for a beautiful hike in the tea fields, his wife and daughter served us delicious food (really!) and our last minute laundry request was also no problem. They do everything to make you feel welcome. One of our highlights whilst traveling Sri Lanka. Go for it! Food was stellar!

Breakfast is huge and really delicious. The owner is really cute.
