It is a ten minute walk to the historical centre and we walked both ways in the day and at night and felt safe. Popayan is worth a stop. We enjoyed our stay very much and felt very welcome. We also got a wonderful breakfast in the morning which was included in the stay. The room was modern and very comfortable.

The taxi journey from the centre of Popayan took me around the same neighbourhood for about an hour and it was stressful. Fortunately, my taxi driver had internet on his phone (I know I need to upgrade) and was eventually able to find the apartments nestled into nature. My frown melted away within seconds of seeing the apartment. From window to window, different views, trees, birds and breathing the fresh air. Diop and Marta, the dogs, the chickens are now part of my family. They always asked if I needed something from the centre or if I wanted to go with them. Exceptional people and exceptional staff.
