Absolutely gorgeous, historic accommodation in the heart of Strängnäs. You can see the Domkyrka bell tower from the bedroom window and it’s a short walk to the harbour and windmill (well worth a tour—it’s free and the guides are fantastic). Henrik and Isa have thought of every comfort and are incredibly obliging hosts. The bed is possibly the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. Strängnäs itself is adorable. Its location on Mälaren makes for a beautiful outlook, there are cafes, restaurants and boutiques. There are shops, pubs and swimming spots. The train takes you to Stockholm in less than an hour and it’s not too far to Mariefred and Gripsholms Slott. I mean, what’s not to love? Henrik and Isa have good recommendations to suit your needs. You should stay here!

An absolute gem. A wild and beautiful garden with lots of secret spots to discover. A wonderful house with an interesting history, well taken care of and artistically restored. Super close to a nice little beach and trails into the forest.

Complete and fresh breakfast in the morning. Firm bed, quiet area, clean room. Staff were very prompt and friendly! Excellent if you want to stay away the city centre, however easy to get there by train!

We loved the location by the lake and the rowing boat available for guests. We rowed to Hornuddens for lunch which was excellent. The sauna was a real highlight as well.
