Salem and his team are absolutely exceptional! You step into the property and walk into a homely and open ambiance. Salem understands what his guests needs and always manages to send everyone off with a smile and a sense of special hospitality. You see him entertain the 8 year old and the 80 year old with undivided attention. We took the tuna BBQ dinner, and it was treat! The boat tour was magnificent! We saw 100+ dolphins a few see turtles operating as seagulls taxi, and had a sweet ride by the shores of Ras Al-Jinz where Albertos and other sea birds stood elegantly ashore and flew in flocks as we approached. We snorkeled in a majestic aqua-green lagoon. I spent a memorable time with my family at Salem’s and couldn’t recommend his place highly enough.

Sometimes the most difficult places to reach are the best. At the end of an abandoned runway lies a great guesthouse where the hosts go out of their way to make you feel at home. It is located near the beach where fishermen bring their catch to shore. If you so wish the owner will barbeque these fish for dinner for you. You can choose to relax in the Bedouin tent next to the guest house or take the half hour drive to the Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve. And don’t be surprised if you spot a baby turtle near the guesthouse who took the wrong turn at the beach. In every way a great place to stay.

Everything gone perfectly, super hosts, super warm welcome, super breakfast. once arrived our host welcome us at omani way, with tea, dates and other goods. The owner even he didn't speak english fluently (like us :-)) he lovely talk with us through a translating application. Super! I'm looking forward to come back in Oman.

A wonderful stay full of kindness and magic! We had an amazing experience at Afaq Guest House! The host was incredibly flexible and kind — we had accidentally booked two apartments, and he kindly canceled one for free just two days before our arrival. He also arranged a delicious dinner even though we confirmed only 50 minutes before getting there! Everything was spotless, and both dinner and breakfast were homemade and delicious. Our kids absolutely loved the experience — the host showed us the glowing light plankton at night, rescued little turtles crossing the road, and even arranged a last-minute night tour to see the big turtles on the beach. He was friendly, responsive, and truly went above and beyond to make our stay special. Afaq Guest House felt like staying with friends — we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Oman!

Great guesthouse with very attentive staff. Delicious and very big breakfasts, the best during our stay in Oman. The guesthouse is in walkable distance from the beach and 15-minute drive from the sea turtle reserve.. The swimming pool was great in hot days with sufficient deck chairs. Hot tea and coffee, halwa and dates were available till late nights. The staff always asked if we need more tea or coffee and was very helpful.

We had a very warm welcome. The host gave very good information about the things to do. The turtle beach is on the corner. Very comfortable beds. All was brand new. And especialy the personal touch: an omani breakfast etc etc. In short if the house is free… this is the best you can get
