I spent almost two weeks at Rafa's place. I enjoyed it for many different reasons (the location, AC, free breakfast, comfortable beds, super clean room, no credit card fees), but what made my stay so amazing was the hospitality from Rafa and his girlfriend. They truly understand how to treat a guest in your house. If I ever come back to San Juan, this will be my home again. I hope it never changes!

This place is amazing!! Incredible swimming pool with a view, beautiful rooms & bungalows. There is also a cold bath which is a great idea in this tropical weather. All in all the property is well taken care of. The breakfast was really good and the best is that they modify it, so everyday you get different musli & type of eggs. People working here are so friendly and helpful! The man at reception gave us so much of good advice about what to see in Nicaragua. We were not part of yoga retreat so cannot say much about this. But you don’t need to be into yoga to enjoy this place. We loved it here and would be happy to be back. Beautful place :)

Absolute gem. Fantastic holiday home, gorgeously decorated with an eye for detail. Pool is a stunner, particularly at night and during the sunset. Probably the best breakfast during our entire stay both in Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Chris, the host, makes you feel at home immediately, is highly welcoming and knowledgable about things to do. Would also go above and beyond if you need something.

I had such a wonderful experience staying at this guesthouse! The location couldn’t have been better, right in the center of town and close to the beach, yet tucked away on a quiet street so you can really relax. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, always ready to help with anything I needed. They even gave me a ride all the way to Rivas from where I could catch my bus. The room itself was spotless and super comfortable, one of the nicest I’ve stayed in during my travels. And the breakfast was delicious, a perfect way to start each day. If you're looking for a peaceful, well-located, and genuinely warm place to stay in San Juan del Sur, this is it. Highly recommended!

For the price its a luxury experience siutated close to the beach. The staff is super friendly and helped us with all of our requests! The food, including breakfast, was also good! I highly recommend this place if you want luxury at good price! Also close drive to the very popular surf beach of playa maderas. Hoghly recommend to eat at Doña chilo right down the road with the sweetest lady!

The accommodation is very clean and up to date. It's a little outside the city (15 minutes on foot), but that also means more peace and quiet. A large swimming pool allows you to cool off at the end of the day. There is a bit of a lack of kitchen equipment to cook adequately.

Where to start? Location, facilities, kitchen, vibe, surrounding nature... We could have not dreamt of a better place to get stranded. Sure, the way up to the hostel is steep and rocky, but so is life and you will be rewarded by a fresh breeze, likeminded people and the friendliest staff on earth (s/o to Philipp, Diego and Larissa). Whether you surf or not, you will enjoy your time as the team and fellow travellers organise regular events. We'll be back soon.

My stay at the Clandestino hostel was incredible - The hostel has a beautiful and homely atmosphere and Philip, Diego and Larry did everything to make us guests feel welcome. Great location for surfing and spending quality time.

Really cool hostel in the middle of the jungle! Great comfortable rooms with little bugs. Shower and toilet also in middle of jungle but very clean. Kitchen with beautiful view also clean.

Great location, really close to the beach & Hush for sunsets. The big open kitchen was ideal for long travellers and also served as a spot for everyone to hang out and socialise. The staff and guests were all super like minded and easy to get along with. Shout out to bingo night which was surprisingly fun.
