Royal Rock is a quiet, peaceful haven handy for Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa. The food is excellent, service attentive but not intrusive and the ambience is most relaxing. The rooms all have a view of a lion rock and paddy filed which is home to varieties of birdlife. There is a comfortable pool to cool off in and rooms are cozy.

The owner Ajith and all the staff were incredibly AMAZING 😍 He helped me a lot to get every activity I wanted to do, tuk tuk etc! We woke up very early in the morning to make sure I wake up to go to pidurangala. Very good location and very nice place to stay !! Thank you!!!!

We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere surronded by animals while we were actually ideally located. We saw the lion rock, Dambulla and did 2 safaris from the hotel (Horulu & Wilpattu). You can also find nice restaurants and shops just outside the resort. Hosts are very helpful to give you advice, price, find tuk tuk at any time etc...Everyone was lovely and our deluxe water cottage was very comfortable.

For the location alone, this deserves a 10. Just across from Lions Rock, you can pop across the road and enter the property in no time. The room is as in the pictures, good data connectivity, and the shower is warm. I was worried about rain in the morning but got lucky so had an excellent hike up. Breakfast was amazing and the host super kind and helpful: arranged my transport to Kandy directly with them.

Unbelievably located literally right out the front of Sigiriya Rock (only 10min walk to the entrance. Beautiful family who runs the property. They were extremely nice and extremely helpful. Great comfortable clean room, awesome a/c, and a great breakfast. Host father helped us book a tuk tuk for really early in the morning as we wanted to see sunrise up Pidurangala Rock.

Excellent location, facilities, and the host (Suman). Will definitely recommend the cabanas. Suman went out of his way to make sure we had a good time. His contacts with restaurants and other villagers meant that most of our requirements were met to a high standard.
