We spent two nights at JML Villa Foresta with the family and honestly, it was the best stay we’ve ever had. From the moment I booked, the owner was in touch and super helpful. Even though he lives abroad, he made sure everything was taken care of and that we were happy. You don’t often see that level of communication and care. Getting to the villa is an adventure in itself. It sits right on top of a mountain, and the hotel provides both the off-road vehicle and the skilled driver you’ll need to get there. Once you’re at the top, the views are absolutely jaw-dropping and the weather shifts constantly, so the scenery feels alive and always changing. The villa is just beautiful. A mix of stone and wood that feels both rustic and luxurious. Everything was clean, cozy, and comfortable. Outside there’s a pool with an incredible view, and inside you’ve got a pool table, big flat-screen TV, and a sound system you can crank up without worrying about disturbing anyone, since the villa sits on its own massive 25+ acre estate. Total privacy. RSpecial thanks to Ravi, the host, who looked after us with such professionalism and warmth. He made sure we were comfortable at every moment. And the food? Honestly next level. The owner had told me they serve more than what you pay for, but I didn’t realize just how true that was until we sat down. Every meal was generous, beautifully presented, and delicious. The dishes just kept coming until we couldn’t eat another bite. If you’re after breathtaking views, complete privacy, amazing food, and a team that genuinely cares about your experience, this is the place. We loved every minute and would come back in a heartbeat.

Incredibly friendly people, great food, nice room in a beautiful rural setting. Sunil is a retired Sinharaja park guide who even took me to a nearby place to find a rare owl. So nice!!

The staff was exceptional! The location was unreal. Access was a bit struggle but the staff assisted as much as possible. Owners may consider providing a ATV (if possible)

Very beautiful place to stay for seeing the rainforest. Vini is an excellent guide and spots all kind of animals when you go with him in the park or in the village area. He also helped us with transport and other arrangements. His wife cooks the best rice and curry in Sri Lanka! The food comes always in very big portions and that for a very reasonable price. For dessert you can eat the very delicious curd with honey from the palm tree, which Vini climbs every day. The location at the river is fantastic. As a wildlife enthusiast there is always something to see in the garden. But very surprisingly there are no mosquitoes at all. The rooms were very clean and had a lot of space. From the terrace we had a nice view on the river. All in all we had a wonderful stay!

The Location is very beautiful, situated in the jungle in a small village. The family was incredibly kind and made our stay feel like home. We had delicious homemade, traditional dinner and breakfast. The house is close to the entrance to Sinharaja Forest and they recommended us a great Guide who spotted lots of animals and showed us many ayurverdic healing plants. I can‘t recommend this place enough :)

The most beautiful hotel I’ve seen. For a person who loves rain and forest it was perfect. Stuff was also very helpful and nice and food was great 💜

The people running this retreat were so lovely and so helpful. The pool is exceptional. The pools in many, places we stayed we diisappointing as they were smaller than they liked in the photo. This pool was the reverse, it's large and gorgeous, you can actually swim lengths

I had a wonderful experience at Grand Silverray. The property is beautifully maintained, clean, and very comfortable. The rooms are spacious and well-designed, offering everything needed for a relaxing stay. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the overall service is truly impressive. I highly recommend Grand Silverray to anyone looking for a pleasant, comfortable, and memorable stay. Definitely looking forward to visiting again!

A Modern European standard a hotel. Without Sampa I don’t think my experience would be as good. He really knows all the spots & can make you smile regardless :)
