You can see the hostes think of every small detail and alot ofoney was invested to make sure gusstes are happy ! From the uniqe decoration to the tje built of the house and matireals of huge stones and wood all over rhe house huge speaker system the mosf beautofull jungle view i had ever seen ! And most importent the hosts ! Lovely couple that you can feel the love and hospitalety they give to the guestes from high qualify diverss meales made by a chef how is the owner to the rides trips and all requesr we had they did more then we ever expected and with a huge smile every timr !! Surly the besf faciliys best foid best view and best hospitalety i had ever recived ! No words will be enoghu ! Thank you jani and malu ! We are for sure going to be your guestes soon ! You truly made us feel like family and the house and food and facilitys was way beyond perfect ! Thank you for the exprince ! See you again soon !

After a hike through the rainforest with Sunil we were welcomed into his house by the family and Sunil’s wife presented us with a fabulous meal . Similarly , the following morning , after a very early start we hiked in the forest and saw most of the birds we had wanted to see . Sunil is an excellent guide - enthusiastic and very knowledgeable . We were then treated to a great breakfast at Sunil’s house .

After 2.5 hours of driving by car, we were dropped off on a country road, where a tuk-tuk was waiting for us. We left our luggage in the car and took the essentials in our backpacks. The tuk-tuk bumbled off towards the rainforest and after a few kilometers we were dropped off. Then it was on foot for the next 800 metres! The view was beautiful along the way in the lush rainforest with small rivers and ferns as big as cars. Then we reached a clearing in the forest and the view of the place where we were to live opened up. The most beautiful wooden villa in a stylishly delicious design, where a waterfall flows under and into a natural pool and where you are left breathless by such beautiful nature that you are surrounded by. When we got inside we were not disappointed. The decor, materials and design are so delicious and exclusive. We were welcomed with a cinnamon drink and passion fruit with sugar and salt (try it - it's really delicious!). The two men who accompanied us to the house were both cooks and waiters. They didn't know much English, but they were incredibly helpful and service minded. After we had gotten a bit settled in the villa - and had taken 1000 photos of the view - we saw on our phones that there was ZERO coverage. And no WiFi either! So it was off with our UNO playing cards and the books about the rainforest, which were lying out front. Calm fell upon us and we quickly got used to just being and standing and enjoying nature. We were totally "disconnected" from the world, but became "connected" with nature. After a delicious barbecue dinner, the two men came up to us and gave us a walkie-talkie. "You just call in case of emergency - we are 200 meters away". And then we were all alone in nowhere. Absolutely amazing and also a little scary.

I stayed at Sinharaja Pitadeniya Hut in Lankagama during our research work in Sinharaja, and it was an excellent experience! The location is ideal—conveniently close to the main road and within easy access to both the Lankagama and Pitadeniya entrances of Sinharaja Forest Reserve. This made it very practical for our research activities. The food was another highlight. Breakfast was included in the price and featured authentic local dishes, which were both delicious and satisfying. The host was incredibly friendly and supportive, always ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The accommodation itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable environment to relax after a day of work. Overall, it’s a great place for anyone visiting the area, whether for research or leisure. Highly recommended!

Jansen is a peaceful, comfortable stay. The staff is friendly and welcome. By far the best part was the pool and the forest views from the bedrooms. Very peaceful, I'd be happy to stay again.

The people running this retreat were so lovely and so helpful. The pool is exceptional. The pools in many, places we stayed we diisappointing as they were smaller than they liked in the photo. This pool was the reverse, it's large and gorgeous, you can actually swim lengths
