A very nice and comfortable place to stay. A gem of a place very close to Batticaloa. We spent a few nights there. It was very nice. The staff there are also very nice. The plastic on the beach there really bothered us. We are just mentioning it here. It is not their fault. The municipal council there should take responsibility for this.

A hidden gem in Passikudah – absolutely recommended! The Dream Inn Guesthouse truly surprised us in the best possible way. From the moment we arrived, the host was incredibly attentive, warm, and welcoming. We stayed in the spacious garden villa, which offered more than enough room for the three of us—our 9-year-old son even had his own bed. The room was spotlessly clean, air-conditioned, and equipped with a top-quality mattress that gave us two very restful nights. One of the highlights was the semi-open bathroom, beautifully integrated into the natural surroundings—functional, charming, and impeccably clean. We especially loved the peaceful little garden terrace, which opened up into a lovingly maintained garden and offered the perfect spot to relax. The location is also ideal—just a short 2 to 5-minute walk from several stunning and quiet beaches. Breakfast was another highlight. We chose the local Sri Lankan option each morning and were blown away by how delicious and authentic it was. In summary: a friendly host, excellent comfort and cleanliness, beautiful natural surroundings, and amazing local food. We only stayed for two nights this time, but we will definitely come back—and stay longer next time! Highly recommended!

We arrived very early and were able to check in instantly. After that we got a lot of fruits (banana, watermelon, mango) for free. The house was very clean. You could see that we were only the third guests, because everything was very new and modern. The owner was very friendly and helped us with everything instantly. We could also rent bikes for our stay.

😍 I booked Coastal Villa, Kallady in Batticaloa based on the reviews and ratings while travelling, as I was looking for a decent place to stay in Batticaloa during my visit. My criteria for accommodation are simple: it should be affordable, offer a clean room and bathroom, and provide good food, as I don't spend much time in the room. Coastal Villa, Kallady, Batticaloa, exceeded my expectations in every regard. Firstly, my host, Anurahavan, his mother and father were wonderful. He contacted me via text after I made the reservation and kindly offered to pick me up from the railway station. Upon my arrival, he greeted me with tea and cookies, engaging in a friendly chat to learn more about me and understand my needs for the stay and my travel plans. Although I had originally booked the room for just one day, Rahavan spoke with the next guest who had reserved the room and arranged for me to stay a few extra hours. He also provided helpful advice on the best places to visit during my limited time in the area, as well as recommended restaurants for a good meal. Rahavan even arranged a tuk-tuk to take me to Passikudha, Batticaloa early the next morning, packed a delicious breakfast, and ensured I had everything I needed for my travelling. His father and mother were fantastic and a awesome family became a good friends, and they managed to show me several notable sites in the area printed on the Menu Cards, including Batticaloa Fort, Lighthouse despite my short stay. Rahavan seemed to know many people in the town and was incredibly helpful throughout my visit. I highly recommend Coastal Villa is a suitable and valuable for all what I have spent are for its worthiness. I thank to Anurahavan and his parents for cooking me a delicious food during my stay.

We liked this homestay. You probably need access to transport to get here but it is close to the beach. The upstairs has a couple of en-suite bedrooms, a lounge and dining area and a kitchen with a fridge freezer. Each room has a kettle and tea and coffee. Air conditioning and fan in each room too. Breakfast was $5 per person and included a fried egg, 4 slices of lightly toasted bread, butter and jam, 4 different fruits, water , tea and coffee. Enough for us. The owner was lovely. Great value to stay here

The location of the hotel was quiet and located only 200m from the beach. The room was equipped basically but with everything you need. It was clean. The cordial couple running the hotel were always friendly, helpful and courteous. All requests regarding transportation, travel advice and extra requests were fulfilled immediately. We would come back at any time.

The location is very calm and quiet. The apartment is surrounded by a nice garden. The apartment is very clean and modern. The entire staff took extremely good care of me and has assisted me with any kind of request (from booking a Tuk Tuk/bike, to preparing very reach and tasty breakfast/lunches/dinners). They were very nice and gentle.

Nava, the host, was very kind, friendly and helpful - it was great to get to know him during our stay. The location was also convenient, and the room was spacious and very clean. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at RoaBaa Guesthouse!

The garden is beautiful and lovely with a lot of places to sit and hang and escape the heat. One minute walking distance to the beach. The owner is so sweet and helpful and even provided a very cheap breakfast even though it wasn’t originally a possibility. The location is a bit away from the bustling city, giving a much more tranquil experience. There are a few restaurants a kilometer away and the possibility for (cheap) take-away.
