This was the best place we stayed in Japan. The King suite was the most beautiful space I’ve ever seen and the bed felt like sleeping on a cloud. Delicious breakfast and wonderful place. Nice traditional house with a wonderful location for mountain and temple treks. Friendly and easygoing host, with a warm welcome and no problems adapting to our schedule and needs.

We loved the friendly welcome. Staff super friendly and go out of their way to provide an excellent service. The property is traditional and beautiful. Rooms feel very authentic. Beds duvets and pillows are the most comfortable we slept in. Best shower we had in japan so far. Location perfect. Whole stay was perfect.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating to our arrival and departure times. Prepared us some freshly baked buns since we were leaving before breakfast would be reasonable. Staff also gave a very nice tour of the building on arrival and answered all of our questions about Matsumoto. Would come back any day and explore the city some more from here! We didn’t get the dinner but it looked delicious from what other guests were eating. The buns were amazing
