Ume no Kaori is a beautiful old (with modern amenities and very comfortable) house very near the ocean. The property and location are both great. There was more than enough room for our family of 5. We only booked one night but wish we had stayed longer. Would highly recommend it.

Traditional Japanese home, my first stay in Japan and I chose Katsuura, and staying here at Yamasu, totally worth it! Love the layout, feels authentic, with the wood and tatami and all facilities. Location was also great, right next to the morning market and close enough to the station, and lots of great food spots around. Would stay there again next time I go back to Katsuura! Owner was also very nice and responsive. The facilities were awesome, this time was alone but I hope to come with family next time! :)

+location : near to the station and 7-11. accessible by walk +clear room, comfortable futones, conditioner (yes building is old but staff is doing their best to balance it) + they have in-build rope in the bathroom to hang&dry your clothes (our swimsuits were dry in the morning) +fantastic view + kettle, refrigerator, kettle for cold drinks:) teabags&coffee, spoons, plates - all you need in there. + washing machines, vending machines in the building
