The room is filled with artworks and thoughtful details arranged by the host. It has a modern Japanese style — the combination of light and shadow, pumpkins, and tatami mats was such a pleasant surprise. The mattress was very comfortable and easy to sleep on. There’s also a great big refrigerator, and the kitchen utensils are stylish and beautiful. The overall stay was amazing — my friends and I truly enjoyed our time here. words cannot being to make this place justice. if you have the chance to stay here—do it. in a small island off the coast of naoshima, the most stunning restored japanese house, filled with art, records, insanely beautiful furniture, and the most comfortable beds you can imagine which are a dream after a long day of biking around the nearby islands. every room in yota's house is a universe on its own—we could have stayed forever exploring all the magazines and listening to all the CDs and records, and eating all the delicious food! every dinner dish was so flavorful and delicious, it was by far one of the best meals of my life and the highlight of my trip to japan. my friend and i will cherish these memories forever. thank you so much yota-san!

The house is very nice and the location is close ro the ferry and different restaurants, very convenient. But the best part is the housekeeper - Lisa. I never encountered such a helpful and service oriented person. She helped me in a bad situation just out of the box. She is an outstanding person!!! Thank you Lisa!

Loving this guesthouse so much! I've traveled in Japan for many times and lived in many Minshuku style Guesthouse like this, and this stay is absolutely the best. It is very clean compared to others, and food is great - they provided many different style, and healthy foods! More importantly, the host/hostess were so kind, and they helped me a lot since I got to work a little bit during stay, and they also shared some story and trekking path on the island. Highly recommended!

The hôtel is very well situated between the beach and the artworks. It's very calm you can sleep with the sound of the wave and wake up just in front of the beach. I recommend going in April before golden week it's not too crowded and the weather is really nice. Also the bus can pick you up just in front of the reception however I recommend taking a bike for the day.

We loved this quiet, sweet, and spacious cottage. Comfortable beds, a good shower, enough space for our luggage, and its proximity to all the sites made it ideal for us. We especially appreciated the Scandanavian-Japanese design with the rustic, wooden interior. We highly recommend this cottage during a visit to Naoshima.
