Staying at Thangkop House was one of the most special parts of my time in Ladakh. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. Wang was incredibly kind and respectful, always making sure things ran smoothly and that guests felt at ease. He wasn’t just a host — he helped with every question, shared thoughtful tips for exploring Ladakh, and created an atmosphere that felt open and relaxed. Dolma’s fresh local bread every morning was a simple but beautiful gesture I looked forward to each day. The rooms are clean and quiet, and the garden is a peaceful spot to reflect after a day exploring. This place has heart. You don’t just stay here — you connect. Very friendly, family run hotel very close to the center. The owner of the hotel Mr. Gonbo was very helpful, he organized an excellent program for us for four days. The room with balcony is very spacious. On the last night he fed us dinner and lit a campfire. The hotel is located in a very pleasant courtyard with huge trees and vegetable garden with two cute dogs. We will be happy to come back anytime.

This hotel is just an exceptional place to stay in! Staff were more than friendly and went out of their way to make us feel at home there. Hot water and heating worked outstandingly well and breakfast offered a lot of tasty options. The room came with a coffee maker, kettle, milk foamer and even an iPad! The amenities in the room were of excellent quality and variety. The hotel location is a little away from the town centre, but it is a nice walk and one gets to enjoy fantastic views of the mountains from the hotel. There are a lot of common areas with comfortable sofas, shelves full of books that can be borrowed, outdoor seating and terraces with sun beds and chairs.

I stayed in Hearth and Haven for 5 nights and I have to say it is the best accommodation I have stayed in India. The room is super spacious, well lit and in a very good location: right in the middle of Leh market. It has hot water and nice shelves to put stuff in and plenty of blankets so you won’t be cold. Overall it is very good value for money. The host Angmo was super kind, warm and welcoming. She helped us with lots of things: heating dinner, preparing hot water, booking our taxing and even helping me with tracking my package from Srinagar (which was supposed to be sent to the homestay but didn’t arrive). She is like our mom in Ladakh
