It felt like heaven. It's an oasis, away from the troubled world. We loved the position of the hotel, loved the facilities, the total sea view, the breakfast, the friendly and careful administrators, the snorkeling rich offer, the cleanest sea, the sunbeds and the shower in the yard. It's the best place if you want quiet and the sensation that time and pressure have never reached this place. They also have an interesting small library in many languages...and it's pet friendly! Heaven! And everyone was whispering around, that quiet! The sea noise was the loudest sound...

It felt more like a luxury family hotel than the typical apartment you rent on Booking. Everything is perfectly functional and the owner very helpful. We cooked two nights in a row and found all we needed in the flat. We were four, the sofa bed is in the same big bedroom as the double bed. The bedroom is huge. 30 minutes by car from the noisy and trafficked Aploreo and Limeni but only three minutes away from a couple of dream beaches. Wonderful starting point to enjoy the silence and the atmosphere of the Mani's peninsula.

Panos is very helpful and picked us up by car in Gerolimenas. With a motor boat he offers a free taxi service to the beaches of the bay. Kayaks available

So tiny and still everything there, so well equipped. And so lovely. And did I mention tiny? :-D It´s all ruins around the tower, so very quiet at nights, Vathia is a really cool place to explore. During the day, there´s tourists passing along the path. I enjoyed sitting on the stairs/stones before the (tiny!) door and chatting to some people. The lovely owner also left us the key to her terrace around the corner for breakfast and such. And she let us stay a little longer for the nasty rain on our departure day. Thank you. The tavern in town was open and nice, with great views. Be prepared for a bit of an adventure walk to the place. It´s steep and partly plain rocks. My first thought was "are they nuts?!?, this can´t be the right way?!?". It is not really suitable for suitcases, bring a backpack, and altogether don´t bring much stuff (tiny, remember?) When we checked out with rain, we skipped the slippery "rock stairs" and walked the circle through the ruins the other way around, it´s a bit longer, but possible, you can´t really go wrong.

It's really difficult to talk about Kyrimai. I want to say ssshhhh. Keep it a secret. All to myself. It is beyond wonderful. Everything about it. Location 10. Comfort 10. Staff 10. Accommodation 10. Food 10. Wines 10. But ... stillness, peacefulness, remoteness, atmosphere, uniqueness and all those things are what sets it apart. And, ... staff ... divine Victoria, Martina and Antigone (spelling?) you are Kyrimai's secret weapons. We're coming back!
