We were doing the C2C and it was the best hotel. Very comfy, they help us with the bikes. Amazing breakfast... Special mention for Georgia who help us in the breakfast (we were 6 and we were quite annoying asking her a lot). She answered and resolve everything with a smile and she didn't complain. We had booked 2 rooms for an overnight stay during our trip to Scotland. Location is perfect, parking and house are easy to find, there are pubs, takeaways and Lidl nearby. Both rooms and kitchen were big, very clean, tidy, and beds very omfortable. We received clear instructions for directions, parking and access to the house. We will definitely be back when going to Scotland or visiting the North East.

The Gibside hotel consistently maintains high standards and I always return to this lovely hotel when I return to the UK. The price of the accommodation was reasonable. The staff are always super friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location of the hotel is very good and is on the bus route into Newcastle or the Metrocentre, it is also well positioned to get into the Northumberland or Durham countryside. The bar / lounge is great and, although there are a number of pubs and restaurants in the village of Whickham, we were more than happy to have our evening meal and drinks at the hotel each day. There are happy hour meal prices in the bar / lounge and the number of local couples, families and groups that use this facility says a lot about the quality and value. I have stayed at the Gibside over many years and will certainly be back in the future and can highly recommend the hotel.
