Cheap hotels in Lautoka

As we left Auckland and boarded our Fiji Airways flights (which was great by the way) to Fiji they announced over the tannoy "your journey to paradise begins..." and do you know what, they really weren't wrong. The flight was excellent, our flight arrived on time but despite a delay getting through customs, security and luggage pick-up our driver from the hotel, Kesho, was waiting for us. And that's where our experience really began with The Fiji Orchard. We had a very comfortable drive to the hotel, a transfer of about 35 to 40 minutes in the traffic, in a very comfortable and spacious almost new Toyota Land cruiser. What we didn't realise was that the Fiji Orchid was once the holiday home of Raymond Burr, star of Perry Mason and Ironside, programmes from the 1960s & 1970s. Raymond Burr loved orchids just as much as he loved Fiji, hence the name of the hotel and the restaurant, Raymond's. Upon our arrival at the hotel, 4 or 5 members of staff were waiting to greet us. This was really special, including Ledge who checked us in, a really straight forward, relaxing and easy experience. Everyone was so very happy, in fact everyone that we met was so happy. We felt really welcome from the moment that we arrived. We've read reviews from guests who have criticised the welcome and the check-in process, which is ridiculous, it was lovely. Our bags were taken to our bure whilst we finished our welcome drinks, before we were walked to our bure. There are only 6 bures, so a maximum of twelve guests. The bures are well spread out, each one backs onto its own little bit of the rain forest. Our bure was lovely, it was very clean and spacious. The main area is separated into two areas by curtains, the bedroom and lounge with seating. There's a small desk and chair. Lying in bed late at night listening to the rain was so relaxing.

Host, that met us upon arrival, how safe the home was, and the cleanliness of the house. We also loved that they had a washing machine and dryer, especially when you're traveling with kids.

Paul was an exceptional host who made my stay truly enjoyable. The room was spacious and beautifully comfortable, with a bed that guaranteed a great night’s sleep. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and even the shared bathroom was large and very convenient. Paul also offered rides anywhere I wanted to go for a small fee and provided delicious breakfast and dinner. I especially appreciated being able to do my laundry during my stay. Everything was easy, comfortable, and welcoming — I couldn’t have wished for a better experience.

Very spacious for some friends over for pizza and cards. It’s clean and fully a furnished kitchen very rare to find at this price. Close to the supermarket, taxi & bus stops if looking to commute many times a day. The property is safe as well as a parking space if looking for rental and very quiet if looking for a place that is away from all the noise of traffics and bustle. The owner very kind and easy communicate with.

The room was clean and tidy, and the homestay family was very friendly. It's very close to the airport, and airport transfer service is available. You can also have dinner with the family and experience local cuisine. This homestay offers great value for money, and I highly recommend it!
