Already the arrival was very pleasant: We were welcomed by Gabriel who picked us up from the boat and walked us to our house. The house was great! Lovely decorations, super clean, good wifi, kitchen equipped with everything you need, quiet and with green all around and right at the boarder of the National Park. Gabriel and his colleague Rodrigo gave us a little walking tour around the village with recommendations for restaurants and info/history about the town with a visit to the Turtle Museum. They were such great guys that we decided to do a Canoe tour with them the next morning and also that we enjoyed very much. Tortuguero is amazing and peaceful with its infinite beach, the canals & the park with its amazing wildlife - definitely one of our highlights of our Costa Rica trip.

The host was absolutely outstanding! I booked this hostel 15 minutes before we turned up as the place we arrived at beforehand was covered in bedbugs. Jose was able to accommodate 14 people at the drop of a hat as he has just refurbished and renovated the hostel. The showers were brilliant, the guest space was huge. Coffee and tea facilities available all day. Several fans in the room. Washing service available. Jose couldn’t do enough for us!

I loved my stay here! The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and there were great free toiletries (including conditioner). Wifi and AC worked perfectly. The shared terrace was the perfect place to relax and listen to the waves. The location was also very good, a bit further away from the main street but you could walk there in a couple of minutes. The beach was right there across a small path and you could hear the waves to the terrace. Booking tours was very easy through them and they were great! The turtle nesting tour was very informative and we had a much smaller group compared to some others. It was truly a highlight! Carmen also shared other tips for the town and was very responsive and kind when I had questions. I would absolutely stay here again!

This was very affordable accommodation and a central location next to a supermarket and a short walk from the dock. The facilities were clean and well looked after. On our second night there were three groups and we all had our own rooms rather than them putting us into a shared 6 bed dorm.

If you want somewhere authentic, in the local village with great hosts Gloria and Sergio, do not hesitate to book here. Very clean, quiet, ideally situated. We did the night walk/boat with Gloria and Sergio which was amazing, definitely worth doing. If you need a taxi boat or want to do a tour of the canals, go through Owen, their friend. The traditional breakfast was delicious.

Fantastic place to stay in Tortuguero. Rooms where a wooden lodge that where perfect for the location. The breakfast was fantastic with a wide selection. Bar and pool area where beautiful. Ideal place to stay for exploring.

Excellent location to explore the beautiful Tortuguero. The room was very clean, has everything you need and it was nice to cool off with the AC in between all the great activities/nature/wildlife Tortuguero has to offer. The restaurant across the street offers a beautiful view to enjoy with a tasty drink or two.

It’s a beautifully presented apartment and was spotlessly clean. The location is fantastic- in the centre of the Main Street. We used Budda Cafe - directly opposite and waterside. The quality of everything we had from there was excellent.

Nice location amd cheap, compared to other facilities. Easy to book trips in the park. Staff spoke good english. We booked for 4 nights, but this appeared to be a bit long, so we decided to leave 1 night early, this was refunded without question. 24/7 tea facility in the common area, 2 periods per day free coffee 8-10 and 15-17.

Tortuguero is a typical Caribbean shanty type town. The location is incredible river one side and sea on the other. This property is ideally located for all and not noisy at all. Leo the nature guide was really good and generally very helpful about guest/transport issues too.
