Embassy house is a very unique place! The host Rafael is extraordinarily kind and helpful. He has a dog named Fidel and a "fat", orange cat named Trump. Both are very cute! The house is full of books, chessboards and other cultural assets, which formed a base for intriguing conversations. The house is located at the very edge of the village. It has a beatiful garden with a terrace on which we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Overall the place has -in the most positive way- a certain "movie-like" feel to it. My girlfriend and I, having planned to go directly from San José to Corcovado national park by bus, our stay in Puerto Jimenez was originally a necessary measure, since there was no connecting bus at the same day we arrived. We ended up enjoying every minute of our stay and Rafael even provided some information about the animal species to be observed in the national park. Overall, I can totally recommend staying at Embassy House and would love to come back any time soon!

we absolutely loved this place, but when deciding you should keep in mind that's it's rustic, more so than what the pictures suggest. it's hot, humid, we found a scorpion in our bed, but the wildlife surrounding the place is amazing. the kitchen is also excellent, and you'll probably have some of the best sleep of your trip (it's not as hot at night).

I was lucky enough to be one of the first guests at El Cerrito and I had the most amazing time there. Lis and Dan were so welcoming and the cabin was really comfortable and peaceful, exactly what I was looking for. I saw all kinds of wildlife there - monkeys, tucans, macaws, iguanas, frogs, humming birds, butterflies and sloths. It really felt like being in the jungle but with all the comforts of home. I was originally planning on doing a tour in Corcovado but I ended up doing a tour here with local guides instead and I'm so happy that I did. I got to see so many animals at a fraction of the price of what I would have paid at Corcovado. I will definitely be coming back here again in the future!

It is a wonderful place. Macaws in the almond tree, parrots arriving and departing (always with a great party :)), a wonderful garden, 2 really cute cats. We really loved it there. Beach, Supermarket and restaurant are walking distance. A perfect place to start a Corcovado tour as well. Lubna was on holiday when we arrived, but she managed everything from the distance. We had the place for us own, its a shared kitchen and bathroom. Be sure you have money with you, it was not possible to pay the room with credit card.

The location is pretty good. You can go everywhere by foot. The Room is very clean and the kitchen has a lot of features like smoothiemaker, Ricecooker etc. Also the Family who runs this place is very frendly and helpful. They offer daily cleaning services, pick you up at the busstation and let you borrow their bikes. I can only recommend to stay here in Pavones!

Carlos and his family were lovely, we had a wonderfull stay in the middle of the rain forest. You have breakfast next to Toucans, Aracaris etc. And Carlos explained all flora + fauna around 👍👍👍 Great breakfast and dinner. The rooms are very clean, there is basic equipment but everything you need. Beds are very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again. All the best for Carlos and his lovely family.
