The breakfast was simple but delicious, and the pool is a great addition. The road around Casa Morey is currently in construction, therefore there were no moto-taxis around, and we enjoyed the quietness. The house looks like a museum, and it also has a little museum room inside. The whole experience was amazing. For solo travelers - this is a very safe housing.

The owners are practising guardianship of this piece of rainforest and land and it’s a beautifully, and thoughtfully cultivated space. The ‘maloca’ was so pretty with really thoughtful detail….and the bed and pillows were excellent quality. I was able to work and then relax in the grounds. Breakfast was wonderful and I loved having my own kitchen- and resident frog in the bathroom.

At the hostel the rooms include a seating area. I’ve stayed one week in the wonderful Guacamayo Azul integrating my journeys in the jungle, and seriously, I have no words how amazing this place is! The house is luxurious, huge comfortable main bedroom, fully equipped kitchen where I felt I could cook as if I was back home. The pool is another sort of privilege; calm and safe location, comparing to the rest of Iquitos. Julio, the housekeeper, would help me with absolutely everything I needed - driving me to do buy groceries, help around the house, even accompanying me to explore the local area’s gems so I don’t feel uncomfortable as a solo female traveler. A special thanks to him! The house is massive and would fit a company up to 8 people, but also it’s an incredible stay for a solo person, who seeks quietness and solitude, like in my case. I truly appreciate my time in Guacamayo Azul, and it only leaves me to wonder why it’s not yet fully booked. I wish you that!
