There were multiple safe boxes, but I'd received clear instructions with photos, so I figured it out. There are lockers in the common area where you can leave your luggage after checkout. You get a key to the locker and to the front door so that you can come get your luggage whenever you are ready. It was raining outside when I was checking out, and the host said I could stay in the common area for as long as I wanted. I was also offered an umbrella. I thought that was very kind.
