The real standout of our stay was Kaesa, who was amazingly friendly and helpful. This may be the best homestay host I've ever met, so enthusiastic and happy to help with anything. He gave lots of advice and recommendations, from good prices to pay for fruit to how to ask for vegetarian food and what to expect on the hiking route. Would absolutely recommend!

This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The bed and breakfast has family rooms. I cannot recommend this stay enough. Dila, the host, was exceptional and so kind hearted that it taught me so much during my short 3 days there. It is a nice quiet location, and you can tell that Dila has put her all into making sure the guests have an amazing time. She is always there to answer questions and do everything she can to make you comfortable. She cooks a delicious breakfast with her sister, and likes to take her guests around Padang and show them beautiful things like the clear blue river deep in the village. Stuff you would never find on your own. She even noticed I liked crystals and rocks and showed me a crystal shop I would not have been aware of. I will always cherish my stay here.

The villa provides a restaurant serving American cuisine, as well as free WiFi throughout the property. The place had everything you needed and the best atmosphere. Staff were great people who loved their jobs. Food was incredibly good.

Alek, the owner, is very available to help us to find the best guide to do a trek in the jungle during 3days to see Orangs outang and other monkeys. He helps us to do laundry, find a taxi to arrive and to leave Bukit Lawang. We visited the bat cave, the market on Friday and the recycling factory near the homestay. The room was comfortable, the bed was very big and comfortable too, with a mosquito net. You can swim every day in the river just in front of the guesthouse with a lot of local kids. There is a restaurant in the homestay or around. You can ask what you need to Alek, he knows every body in Bukit Lawang;-) Thank you Alek for your welcoming.

Mario Lakeside Apartments is a recently renovated apartment in Tuk Tuk, where guests can make the most of its free bikes and garden. The owner and staff are super kind and welcoming. The apartment was so functional--I can see why it can also be rented long-term. Favorite thing was probably the hammock and view of the lake, as well as the convenience of the vegetarian restaurant!

Guests can make use of the picnic area or the barbecue, or enjoy views of the lake and river. From the first contact on everything was organized perfectly (transport from and to the airport, the trek, finding a group to treck with etc.). The staff is really nice, you feel like family there. They also invited me for dinner and we talked about many different things, like culture differences. I did a 2 day 1 night treck with Rian (Guide), Sarol (Assistant Guide) and Mawan (Chef). A very good experience with a lot of explanations and fun. The food was also delicious. You can see, that they have a lot of experience.
