Nikos has done amazing job upgrading this little hut in Droutsoulas village - our stay there was extremely comfortable, as we really enjoyed the front yard, the view, the amazing temperature inside the house (no AC was needed even though we stayed there during a heatwave). One may find informative brochures on the table with places to visit, great tavernas, nice beaches and all the traditional panigiria. I highly recommend spending several days there to enjoy the island. Having a car or motorcycle is a must, as the village is approximately 20 mins from Evdilos, and hitchhiking your way up is not an option, as there are almost no inhabitants in the village any more. The kitchen was also very clean and equipped and I'm definitely going back to spend a few days during the winter, as those mountain views were insane!

The house was spotless. The view over Mesakti beach is wonderful. The house is situated away from areas where the number of homes built very close to one another. So if you are looking for peace and quiet and enjoy watching a sunset while sipping on your wine, this is the one. You may get lucky and receive regular visits from humming birds as they look for the nectar within fowers all around the cottage. As you walk to the cottage, there is a round teras on your left that could be prepared / set up as an outdoor sitting / eating area. It has great potential for it. However, it would require prunning of couple olive and almond trees to take full advantage of the view.

Koskina Castle is 29 km from the holiday home and Agia Irini is 17 km away. This was one of the most beautiful places to stay. Alex was there to greet us and Jannus his father said good bye and gave is delicious grapes. The house was super comfortable, totally peaceful and an oasis of calm. We had a wonderful view of the sea and sunset over the sea from our balcony. The lovely (almost) private beach was a 2-3 minute walk down. The sea was crystal clear, a beautiful blue and we could see the fishes swimming with us. An amazing bay to swim in - even on the wavy days. Naz beach is 10 minutes away, where we enjoyed fantastic food at Thea's tavern. If you want to get away from everything, read, relax, and swim - peaceful even in the height of August holidays, Icarus house is for you. Ikaria has the friendliest and most helpful people. I now know why Ikaria is a blue zone and why people live for ever - beauty, sun, sea, good food, lots of hills and mountains to climb and a friendly, socially cohesive people.

She is very good in communication and also gave us really nice local suggestions. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a stay in the mountains.

When walked up the stairs amd entered the house we saw buscuits, tsoureki, bread. When we opened the refrigerator there was a large packet of sliced cheese and turkey, butter, marmelade, honey, orange juice, water, tomatoes and bell peppers. Have in mind that instant and filtered coffee are provided. Toiletries were also provided. Nothing need to be bought since everything ia provided. Mrs. Vaso, you are adorable and so is your family.
