Beautifully decorated apartment. Breakfast supplies were not expected but were great to have. Hosts welcome info booklet was very helpful. Details of things to do, hikes nearby and local menus made planning our days easy. Very well put together. Very quiet location.

The location, accommodation, restaurant, comfort were all fabulous. What really made this visit so special was how they went “above and beyond” to look after us. Our host Tony and his lovely staff will always be a wonderful memory for their warmth and kindness.

The living room was upstairs to maximise the views of the sound of Mull…. Watching boats and the airstrip in front was fantastic, watching small aircraft and helicopters land/ take off. This was a self catering house which was well equipped and extremely modern. It was dog friendly and spacious throughout. 4 massive bedrooms with one on-suite and a dressing room. Our neighbours were 3 heilan coos which was lovely as the downstairs was full length windows for light and views.

They could not have been more welcoming, driving us to the lovely Machair House, their tranquilly situated family home at the back of the island, surrounded by sheep and lambs grazing happily against the backdrop of the flower strewn Machair and the lulling waves of The Bay at the Back of the Ocean. Machair House is as warm and welcoming as its hosts, with a splendid sunroom, relaxing sitting room, very comfortable bedrooms, and well-equipped kitchen. I happened to be celebrating a special birthday during my stay on Iona, and our hosts made it even more special by providing a huge birthday balloon and a bottle of fizz! We spent two wonderful weeks in Iona staying at Machair House.How perfect, after a day-out exploring the island, to return to this cosy and much-loved haven.
