Kaas d’Vizin is a beautiful stay in the mountains, the room is very spacious, was super clean and is nicely decorated just as the whole house is. Very enjoyable rooftop restaurant with nice view on mountains. Food was absolutely great, all vegan which we did not know and honestly did hardly notice! Very friendly staff

Guests can make use of the sun terrace or the picnic area, or enjoy views of the mountain and garden. Location is flawless - on a quiet street, but just off the main road. Aluguars stop virtually opposite the property and are very frequent, both going up the Paul Valley and along the coastal road. There is a little mini market just around the corner, open until 20:00. The owner is super - helpful and able to advise on all the best walks in the area. He suggested a much better walk than the one we initially wanted to do; he had maps and suggested places to eat. The room was very comfortable, clean, and the balcony was a nice bonus. The kitchen area is really nice, half al-fresco. All the staff were lovely and kind and very helpful. The internet works fine - there are 2 networks to choose from. I was also very grateful to have access to a guest fridge in the kitchen area. We regretted cancelling one of the 2 nights we'd initially wanted to stay and only staying 1. For bonus points, there is also a little 8-week-old puppy :)

The host Evandro is wonderful, makes you feel welcome, answers to all your questions, and gives good advice if we ask. Our host organized the trasport from and to Porto Novo. Amelia prepares a wonderful breakfast. The place is great, it is full of history, it is beautifully decorated with vintage furniture that belonged to the family, Evandro will tell you the history if you ask. The bed is confortable, the place is spotless clean. The sunsets at the terrace are amazing, as well as gazing at the starts in the evening before bedtime. I strongly recommend this place to stay, and I will come back.

I felt so lucky to have found this hotel in the beautiful Paul Valley. The view from our window is exceptional and it makes me feel so calm and energised. You can hear frogs and lots of different insects in the forest at night, which itself is calming. We also had a little visitor (owner’s cat) in the room. Amazing memories, will definitely come back again!

The villa consists of 3 bedrooms, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave and a coffee machine, and 3 bathrooms with a walk-in shower and a hair dryer. Towels and bed linen are offered in the villa. The property has an outdoor dining area. We were met by Lieve at the Ferry Terminal, she arranged a rental car and guided us to the villa (10 minutes from the Ferry Terminal). Lieve and Geert went out of there way to make our stay as comfortable as possibe. The Villa has been built by them with an eye for detail. The villa is very spacious, 3 spacious bedrooms, each with a toilet/bath room, in two of these rooms next to the double beds bunkbeds for two kids. In living room an additional seperate toilet on top. Also a spacious kitchen with everything you need. The swimming pool is covered every evening so it stays warm (28 Celsius). Very important in winter months, we were at some other places where swimming was only for the brave (24 C) or even unbarable (20 C).

She goes above and beyond to make your stay as authentic as possible, and she's an exceptional cook. Everytime we talked about the Cape Verdian culture en cuisine, and she found out we did not yet have a specific traditional dish, she made sure that it was on the menu the next day. The view and calm are amazing. Margaret has a vast network of locals, so she can arange rides and guides if desired. The hikes in the vicinity are magnificent. Truly the most special stay of our holiday in Cape Verde.

I am writing this review 21.2.2023, more than 1 month after the end of my trip to Cabo Verde, so I will not remember all details: Best was the comfort of the bed. Probably the best bed in all the many hotels and appartments. Great sleeping comfort in the double bed. I stayed alone there, it would have been a nice place for a group though. No idea if the other beds are as comfi. Very tasteful design of interior. It is a nice place to stay for a night or two, when doing hiking around. Seems every now and then there are some parties / events also.
