Great place to relax. We came here after finishing the Lost City Trek and this was perfect to recharge. When we went to Tayrona Park after, the owner helped us getting a ride with motor taxis and when it turned out I forgot something, he send a motor to bring it to us at the entrance to the park.

I was worried at first that this might be the wrong choice, since it’s a bit far from the park entrance and the main hiking trail. But this place turned out to be absolutely magical. I would recommend it to anyone. While sitting outside on the little terrace, I saw so much wildlife right in front of the cabin: two types of monkeys, an agouti, parrots, a sloth, a squirrel, iguanas, tons of birds, and even a snake. The cabin itself is super comfortable. It feels cozy, and the bed is really nice. Also, it’s easy to catch a small shuttle or bus from here to both the main park entrance and the starting point of the hike to Cabo San Juan, which makes it a really convenient base. Truly an unforgettable stay in Tayrona.

With garden views, Serrano Tayrona Lodge is situated in El Zaino and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden and terrace. Paulo and Brunella were wonderful hosts. It’s a great option for a family, a romantic couple, or even just friends. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone. Also, you had to take a motorcycle (or 30 min walk uphill) to get to the place - including crossing a river. It was an awesome way to enter the property but I wish I realized that sooner, as finding the location was a bit complicated. Fortunately, we just had backpacks so could easily get on the back of a motorcycle.

Do yourself a favor and book this eco hostal! It was AMAZING!! The rooms were spacious (including a hammock on your balcony, ensuite bathroom, aircon and TV), the breakfast was lovely, the pool was beautiful and the views of the river made and surrounds put you at ease. The location was also ideal, walking distance from really good restaurants and about 2kms to the entrance (El Zaino) of the Tayrona National Natural Park. P.S. Getting there was also easy, just take the green bus (not sure the name) from Santa Marta and hop off right at the Hostal.

The Villa is few meters away from the main road, yes, there is some noise, but late night until early morning no problem sleeping with the balcony door open. Birds singing from the early hours. Very comfy balcony, a hammock, fantastic hot shower available with enough water. The view of the well-cared garden is amazing. Satisfying breakfast (optional), super tasty dinners and other meals available on the menu. Staff warm and welcoming, though not much English speaking, using Translator makes communication easy. :) The room was cleaned every day, so were the towels changed. The Villa is 10 minutes on foot from the El Zaino entrance. The local bus to take you to other beaches outside Tayrona operates all day long, you just wave your hand :) and for a 1.50 euro fee, it takes you to Playa Los Angeles, Playa Costeňo or further distant beaches. We also paid the extra trip to Chengue Beach, the most isolated and protected. The corals one can see in the lagoon waters are breathtaking. Hope it continues the no mass tourism regime, to protect this beauty. We only snorkelled and swam there. Nobody else, just an old man who lives there (pure Robinson life). Coming there takes some time and also not little money, but definitely worth it. A lovely macho cat and a lady dog accompanying you on the dining terrace make the Villa’s atmosphere even more pleasant.

The place is a truly hidden gem in the area. Big lot full of nature, colors, fruits and trees of all kinds. It was perfect for a short stay before and after the lost city. Every dish of the menu was extremely well designed and very tasty. The premises and reading area had really cool music and a nice vibe. As well as the river and garden. The room was big and had very good beds. The staff (especially Diana and Lorena) is SUPER kind and attentive, and so were both owners.
