Highly recommend!

Loved everything about our stay here, it was pure perfection. If it’s available, do not pass up the opportunity to experience it. The lodge is beautiful and so well designed and presented, with lovely homely touches, clean spacious shower room, comfortable bed and bedroom with cracking aircon, great outdoor seating area, in all just cannot fault it. Communication with Hadas/Dusty was spot on, Hadas also arranged for us to do bird watching and cooking onsite with Flora, both of which were great experiences. On arrival we were met by Willy and Stinky who are both adorable and so friendly, they spent a lot of time with us when we were there! Willy was also a great swimming buddy in the river. Facilities in the lodge were second to none and also catered for our unstated needs! Fully stocked kitchen and a bonus of running bottled water. Having the river there to both cool down in and sunbathe by was a bonus and well used with the humidity at the time we stayed. The location was perfect for us, far enough from town to be remote and only a few mins drive into civilisation. Albert, the main man on site in the day, was lovely and friendly and we had some good conversation with him. The security here is also good, with an electric entrance gate and non intrusive cameras, but Willy and Stinky were the best security, making sure you knew about any movement even remotely near the property! They also slept outside our room on a night, ready and waiting for a breakfast treat in the morning! So cute. If you’re not a dog lover though, they won’t bother you, so please don’t be put off by them being there.

Located in San Ignacio and only 5.8 km from Cahal Pech, Villa Massis Luxury Villas provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. With lake views, this accommodation features a balcony. The infinity pool features a pool bar and fence. Beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings. Staff are excellent. The place is very clean. We saw lots of birds, howler monkeys and a night monkey. San Ignacio is 10 minutes taxi ride and worth going for a wonder and some nice food. We found two fantastic restaurants The Burnz and Crave House of Flavour. Also took a trip to Xunantunich Mayan site which is excellent and worth a visit. You don’t need to go on a trip just book a taxi in town, much more affordable. Larry the host provided very good service. We lost some glasses on the transfer he arranged from Mexico and Larry contacted the taxi company and had the glasses posted to our hotel in Mexico which is an excellent service.

Situated just 20 km from Barton Creek Cave, Kane Villas - Mountain Pine Ridge provides accommodation in San Ignacio with access to pool with a view, a garden, as well as full-day security. It was so nice to have our own little villa in the rainforest. The area felt so secluded but also very clean and safe. We also had trails to a waterfall and cave towards the back of the property which was great for exploring when we didn’t feel like driving. The room was well stocked and we had everything we needed for our stay. We were really impressed by how well the screens kept the bugs out and we loved laying in the hammock in the screened in porch. It was a bit cold to swim in the pool but we liked heading there in the evenings to relax and enjoy the evening. It was also wonderful to use the grill by the pool and super easy.
