It's not necessarily central, but it's within walking distance of Centro and has a supermarket, restaurants and a laundry close by. At least three excellent Churrascarias are within a 10 minute walk, one of which is right around the corner. There is also a very well-equipped shared kitchen which is set up for cooking, so even though the main feeling is of an apartment building the kitchen makes it feel like a guest house or hostel, which I liked very much.
