We loved meeting Shane! He was so generous and kind. Our little cabin was beautifully situated at the base of the mountains. We watched the sun set over the dam and the moon rise over the mountains. The cabin was very nice and cozy. The property is a little piece if paradise!

Raptor Rise is in a very peaceful location with nice views of the mountains. The sunsets ere amazing. If you want to get away from it all this is the place. The room was very clean and bright. Everything you needed although a little compact. There are 3 or 4 wineries within a 5 minute drive and also a brewery/restaurant. Everything very handy if you don’t want to self cater. There is a small bbq outside each room and also a communal large kitchen area. There is a small swimming pool. The chickens are running round in the morning which is amusing.

Great location in the Valley and great amenities on site. The cellar and wine tasting on site, overlooking the day with the rolling lawn was amazing for an afternoon of relaxation. We spent ever afternoon in the pool which was also a bonus. Being there mid-week it was very quiet which was great.

We honestly loved everything. I can’t find a single thing to complain about. Our hearts were open and so was our hostess who gave us free reign on the farm! We entered the property as 3 (myself, husband and dog) but spent the weekend as 4 as their adorable, most beautiful boerboel came to join us for the entire weekend! Lighting a fire, soaking in the bathtub and watching the stars was the absolute highlight for us. We will definitely be returning. It honestly felt like home. There is just so many things I could say about this place. But the most important and evident was the presence of God - He was everywhere, constant and undeniable.

I rarely write reviews but this place deserves 10 minutes of my time. Firsly, the host, Chris, was really nice and approachable and did everything possible to make our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. We found the place clean and ready for us. You are literally surrounded by nature, no soul in sight and the accomodation is way more beautiful than the pictures show. The bed was very comfortable and waking up to that view from the dome is nothing l have ever experienced. The shower had nice hot water although l prefer bathing outside in the provided outdoor which had very hot water. The view from that tub is indescribable. We had dinner at the lake under lamps and candles, lamps and candles we got from the property. There were even binoculars for use, enough fans and the kitchen has all you need for a stay. There's a gas barbecue stove and gas was even provided for us. We had ribs done on the stove, so so good. There is a bigger lake that Chris let us use. It felt like we had the entire farm to ourselves due to its sheer size. There's absolutely nothing that was a negative here. We had a saloon car but you will probably be better off with a SUV although we did just fine. If you want a place where you want to relax and leave all the stresses behind this is the perfect place.

The Boathouse is really beautiful, set on a tranquil dam. Although it is on a working farm it is completely private and peaceful. The complementary olive tasting was delightful. All the staff we encountered were lovely. Including Oliver and Rena (the two dogs) who accompanied us on walks leading the way. The boathouse is truly a special place, we were sorry to leave.
