João is just professional: as soon as we arrived Marvão in the parking place, he come up to us to introduce himself. All the information that he shared with us, from parking space, introduction to the rooms and facilities to how we check in and out, was just so clear and straight forward, in a very friendly and pleasant way. The coworkers here were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was very delightful. The house itself is a historical building but the rooms are very good renovated and very well equipped, clean, cozy, traditional and vintage. The experience was so great, we're very regretted that we stayed only for one night and can only recommend!

We stayed at Quinta d'Abegoa's apartment, Casa do Souto, which is very cosy and ideal for two people. Everything is really well thought out so the apartment felt bigger than it actually was. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is excellent. The outside space is beautiful - we loved sitting out, listening to the birds and the bells from the sheep, while enjoying the views of the both the castle and over towards the mountains and Spain. We made the most of being able to walk to restaurants in Marvao (although it is uphill all the way!) but we also cooked at the property - the kitchen is tiny but is very well-equipped and has everything you need to self-cater. Our host, Rosa, looked after us extremely well, bringing us breakfast every day, and nothing was too much trouble. We love the area around Marvao and will definitely return for another stay at Casa do Souto.

We liked that our host was so friendly and that if he didn’t understand everything we said in English he would use his app on his phone to have a chat with us! He was very accommodating in every way and we even had a wee port on arrival and tea or coffee whenever we wanted it. There was a lounge area we could use and the views were incredible. Marvao is a gorgeous village and this property was extremely well situated near the ruined castle and tiny museum, both of which were well worth exploring. There was a nice homely cafe just metres away. Parking was also easy and just outside the door. Our host was kind enough to help with our luggage.

Absolutely loved the location. Every single little detail was thought through, everything that you could possibly need was available throughout all the rooms. Cleanliness was impeccable, nothing to complain about. The beds were extremely comfortable and we liked the touch of having different pillows for different preferences. The house was beautifully decorated and comfortable. Loved the pool table. Perfect little piece of heaven. Perfect to seek some peace and quiet. Friendly hosts and easy check in. Great communication.

A beautiful location surrounded by amazing views. A lovely old traditional house full of quirky features. The air conditioning was very welcome. Antonio is an amazing host. He met us at Portagem and showed us around the two local swimming pools. We used these to cool down at the end of a busy day. Antonio then escorts you to the house and ensures you know how everything works. We had a brilliant time.

Absolutely perfect! The house is so beautiful and comfortable! The front of the house is all in glass, with a breathtaking panoramic view! I's so cosy and all the details made us felt so welcomed. Every bedroom had its own bath, the beds were super comfortable. You have stunning views from every room. There was a lot of space. Outside, the house has an amazing private terrace, so comfortable to relax and enjoy the view! The sense of peace we feel there is unique. Irene is an excellent hostess and made us feel so welcome! We loved everything and we want to come back!

We liked the tranquility of the surroundings and nature in general. The view on the abandoned train station is also quite special, like a movie decor. We would have liked to do some walks in the area, but it was too hot. The property is a nice house with annex on the other side of the road, where you can find the cute donkeys and beautiful swimming pool in Alentejo style. The rooms are very comfortable and modern, although they are quite small. We enjoyed the nice common terrace and the amazing starry night. You defintely need a car to go to the restaurant or to one of the lovely villages like Marvao. We got some good advice about places to see and activities to do from the nice lady welcoming us. We also liked the praia fluvial de Portagem to cool down. Although it was very crowdy, there was a good vibe.
