We always end our trips by asking each other "which place we stayed at you liked the best?" and this was that place. This is the place to stay if you want peace, quiet and beautiful views. Yes, you need a car to get there, and, yes, you also need a car to go out to dinner, but that wasn't a problem to us, quite the opposite, we were looking for that. Room was clean and as in photos, the view from our window was stunning. Breakfast was served fresh every morning and had some nice and personal touches like homemade jam. Last but no least, the hosts were so welcoming and polite, gave dinner recommendations and were open to give you any recommendation and help you need. On the morning of our check out there was no rush and we were welcome to check out when we wanted, and since after check out we went to the Paiva Walkways (p.s. very close to this property as also is Arouca 516), the host suggested that if necessary, we can come back after the walk and use the shower. We are glad we found this place, and hope to be back!

We were here in early June 2023, newly converted and we were their 2nd guests. Very good, no its excellent, accommodation. Coming here is getting away from the tourist scene of beaches and crowds. The kitchen dining living room was easy to work in, the bedroom very comfortable. WiFi, power points, table very workable. Could easily be accommodation could spend a week in. The owner is next door and very helpful. Could easily be used as a base to explore areas within a 20 or 30km or more range. Went to a local restaurant ( cafe Flor do Paraiso) just down the road for probably our best home cooked Portuguese meal of the trip. The cafe is local enough that its not even on Google.

The accommodation exceeded all our expectations in the mountainous hilly countryside of the Duoro river valley with a magnificent panorama. The guest houses are located in a vineyard outside the city, they serve all comforts, it is quite a unique experience to stay here in infinite silence and peace. Communication and access were smooth. I wholeheartedly recommend the accommodation.

If viewing this property I highly suggest booking it without hesitation. Me and my partner stayed with our 3 small children 8, 7 and 5 and my folks who are in their 60’s who went to Magikland amusement park and we all stated how lovely the property was. The hosts are lovely people to deal with, the building itself is so well planned and a credit to them and their architect, it has spectacular views so tranquil that I almost felt like I was in a scene of tv series virgin river lol. 😂 I would most definitely book to stay here again.
