We came to Safari Dunes Camp just after having spent a night at Thousand Nights Camp. I liked it very much there, but Safari Dunes was much more to my taste regarding contact with the desert. Safari Dunes is composed of only five huts with a central hut for restauration and an annex for the staff. To me it was the true desert experience. We enjoyed sunset on top of the dunes nearby, with nobody around and only the sand, the wind and the sky to stare at. The staff is very reduced but of exceptional quality. Fahrad, the manager, is quite the philosopher, but with a hint of British humor. He shares gladly his experiences and describes quite well the overall philosophy of the Camp, which I would summarize as "enjoy the place, the privacy and the passing of time". A philosophy which is nonetheless sustained by a strong material asset: Malek, the cook. The dishes he prepares for the evening and morning buffets are all more than delicious and in largely sufficient quantity, combining typical Arabic food and fresh fruit and vegetables. Of course Farhad can organize activities for his guests, but to us the programme I just described in a few words was enough for body and soul ! Both Fahrad and Malek speak a perfect english and I want to thank them quite heartly for their hospitality !

Our stay at this camp was absolutely wonderful. We ordered a transfer to the camp and Mr. Omar came to pick us up at the agreed time and everything went smoothly. The rooms were clean, spacious, beautifully furnished, the bed, bedding and towels were of top quality. The common area in the shade was so wonderful that we didn't even have time to use the rooms. Coffee, tea, water, fruit were available all the time. They also brought camels, which our children were happy to ride, and the price was also quite solid. The dinner was above expectations, very high quality and tasty and a lot of choice. The staff was very helpful, they did everything to make us feel good.

very helpful staff with helping us getting to the meeting point (our car was stuck in the sand as we got lost along the way in the dark). the dome was exceptional, overlooking the sunrise with very well decorated furnitures.

We liked the authenticity of the place and the host, Hammed, a true bedouin, most hospitable, honest and friendly. He shares with you his uses and culture and offers a great service and perfect comfort in the middle of the desert. Hassan is his assistant and both cook in a true bedouin style natural and fresh products. The location is outstanding, surrounded by dunes and there are two female camels, pregnant by the time of our visit. We asked Hammed to send us photos of the baby camels when they get born. Unique experience, perfect for disconnect, very good food (they offer for two lots of different dishes and quantities that would feed four people). It is by far one of the best experiences of our lives.

My partner and I like to do a lot of research before we book places. After reading the reviews of this camp we couldn’t not book it and we totally understand why people rave about it now. The camp is perfectly located amongst the dunes, with no other camp in site. The tents themselves are a great size and the balcony with the lounge chairs is the perfect touch to star gaze at night. The common eating area and very spacious and the fire pit is also a nice touch for when the temperatures dip at night. Faiz the owner was exceptional and made sure everyone had activities booked throughout the stay. He has an amazing personality and made you feel right at home. Adris the chef was also amazing. He cooked incredible food and was great company. Overall this was the highlight of our trip. If you are looking for an authentic desert stay, this is the place!
