The breakfast was excellent, a Dutch breakfast. Very filling and delicious. The coffee was great, too. I liked my bedroom with its window seating and beautiful, old, original wooden floors and doors. The light switches and latches on the doors are original in the heritage property. Leon told me the house was the first in Masterton to have electric lighting. I also had my own bathroom and entrance to the house. Plenty of light from the large windows looking onto the garden. The garden is filled with flowers and beautiful roses and a hammock! The hosts, Kinnie and Leon are very friendly and helpful. I found my weekend stay comfortable and relaxing. The house is within walking distance of the CBD with its shops, cafes, bookshop, Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History, and the Wool Shed Museum. I loved the lavender in the Queen Elizabeth Gardens.

This beautiful home stead is like stepping back into a wonderful world of the past. It's a treat ! Like no other place, you will encounter, it has a feeling of an 'olden day times' transporting you back into a time of the past, with timeless relics, mirrors, porcelain and clocks.This is a must stay, the room is huge and the beds so comfy with a contiential breaky!
