David and Helen were wonderful hosts. Unique property in the country yet only 10 minutes to town and many wineries. Very quiet and relaxing. Great breakfast. Very comfortable bed, great shower. Many eclectic decorative touches added interest and fun. Highly recommended!

This property sits in the middle of the vineyards. All within easy reach by car or taxi. It was tranquil and relaxing. We enjoyed the fantastic views with sundowners each evening sitting outside the cottage. The smell of the lavender added to the mood. Afterwards we lit the stove inside. Jason came with more logs and kindling in case we ran out. At a reasonable extra cost we ordered a charcuterie platter one evening. It was generous in size and delicious. Fresh eggs from their own hens were provided in the cottage along with milk, bread, butter/jam/marmalade. On leaving we needed a large taxi for all our luggage for the airport which Jason organised for us the night before we left.

We stayed with another couple so had the b&b to ourselves. Janet, our host, was charming and we thoroughly enjoyed dinner with her and Konrad. The garden is very pretty and there’s a room just for guests leading out to it.

My husband and I loved everything about Walnut Block Cottage 1. The location is perfect both in terms of its close proximity to Blenheim CBD, the vineyards and only 30 minutes to the seaside village of Picton, as well as the properties own outlook on its vineyard and the walnut tree from which it gets its name. The cottage itself has everything you need, is roomy and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is well fitted out and we were very appreciative of the breakfast items left for us to enjoy. The deck has a table and chairs, where we enjoyed sharing a bottle of Walnut Cottage Sauvignon Blanc as we ate dinner ( it was so lovely out there, that we cancelled our dinner booking and opted for a take away from the same place, so we could enjoy the view and watch the sunset). We were also very appreciative of how accomodating Helen was in letting us drop our bags off early. Our only regret was that we didn't book a longer stay.

The room was very tidy, warm and comfortable, with a beautiful view on the river and the amazing surroudings. The bathroom was shared but always clean. The owners are really nice, helpful and welcoming. We felt like at home! Highly recommended.

Such a beautiful older home. Lovely interior. The beds were so comfy , we all slept like logs all night. The rooms were huge. Had awesome toy boxes that kept my kids entertained all night. The chocolates and soaps on the beds were a perfect touch

We replaced a room on the spot that very day. We arrived and were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and had what was needed - comfortable beds, clean linens, kitchen utensils and more. The shared kitchen was very clean and so were the showers. Thank you!

This was the best stay on our 4-week holiday to NZ. Everything was perfect. The bed, the bathroom, the kitchen was all superb. Cannot recommend this place anymore highly. Jonathan and Nataysha are excellent hosts. We wandered around the garden which is just lovely. You can pick oranges and mandarins to consume as you wish, and they were delightful. Breakfast was included as well. Parking is just outside the room which are all little separate villas, so you are a long way from your neighbours.
