Yurie and her husband were amazing hosts. The room was very spacious and comfortable and access to private onsens - indoor and outdoor. The food was INCREDIBLE… I think some of the best I experienced in Japan - do eat there, you will not be disappointed! There are a lot of great hikes accessible by public transport from the accommodation. It was a wonderful oasis of tranquility in between the business of Kyoto and Tokyo. I can’t recommend enough, I would definitely stay again if ever on the Izu peninsula.

Amazing interior, decor was exceptional (everything was pink and glamorous). There was attention in every detail. We slept very well, the owners were extremely kind & showed us around when we arrived. Great value for the cost of one night. We caught the bus to the beach and then it was around a 10-12 minute walk, slightly uphill for part of it. 10/10 stay, we’d absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Shimoda who enjoys staying somewhere a little bit different and quirky.

The location is not far from the center, is uphill and was a bit difficult to find the driveway, but it is a nice place with a nice view. The villa is clean, the bathroom has a beautiful view especially at the sunset. BBQ is allowed, rooms are cozy.
