Very friendly and helpful host. Nice rooms and all the amenities one could need. Very close to the biggest town in both walking and cycling distance.

Would rate this a 12/10 if I could. The place has been nicely renovated but still has much of the old charm. The colours used make it modern, vibrant and inviting. Our host was kind and welcoming. And the place offered anything we needed and more (Oshima island is lovely!). The town is easily accessible via public transport and the place is a short 5-7min upward walk away from the busstop of habu port. Apparently the place next door sells oshima brewed ipa's but there were out during our visit.

It is 3 floor house in a bay Looks and feels very authentic A disadvantage is that bath is on opposite side of a street. Still it is a part of unique experience. Host speaks Japanese - please be prepared to use translation app. It is small place - there are not many place to have a dinner or breakfast. Even stores close at 19:00. This should be also properly considered.

The house is very comfortable and cozy, equipped with everything you need. The kitchen has all the necessary dishes and spices. The internet worked flawlessly. All rooms were clean and dust-free. There is a small, well-maintained garden near the house. The entire interior and setting allow you to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Japanese living. There is parking available. Within walking distance, there are bus stops, restaurants, the port, and some small attractions. A special mention goes to the owner of the house. He speaks only Japanese, but this does not hinder communication. He is an open and friendly person who will help make your stay on the island unforgettable. He organized an amazing jeep tour of the island for us.

Lovely place with an incredible library room, perfect for enjoying rainy days in. Apparently named after a manga character so attracts a lot of animation fans. Great location to explore the main sights around Habu port. The host was so kind to inform me of the departure port on the day of check out. 🤗

We had a wonderful stay at 島の宿 近 〜KON〜! The host was absolutely lovely and so easy to communicate with. She checked in with us on the morning of our departure to confirm when we would be arriving so she could meet us at the airport on time. On the way to the property she told us all about the island and even made a stop at a local grocery store so we could pick up some basics for our stay. She also helped us make reservations at a restaurant near the property and arranged for us to have a barbecue at the house on our last night. The property was beautiful, secluded and fully equipped (including e-bikes!). Would happily visit again!
