We went there to experience a japanese traditional hotel, as well as to rest after 10 days in Tokyo region, before going to another 10 days of walking in Kyoto-Osaka-Hiroshima region. Overall, was the perfect experience... The shuttle from JR station to the hotel has a great schedule. The staff was very nice and available, the room marvelous and traditional, very spacious also. The surroundings of the hotel are beautyfull and great for a walk in the woods by the river. The public onsen of the hotel is relaxing and an amazing experience (we went 3 times in 2 nights).The view from the room also wonderfull. This was the most expensive hotel (per night) we had in our 25 days japan trip, but worth it! I recommend it to everyone. I think 2 nights are perfect to rest and enjoy the experience, with breakfast included. Breakfast has like 14 different things in front of you, and change each day. You can try lots of different stuff from Japan.

A nice traditional place with original features and adorable attentive staff. The property itself was much bigger than what we expected - it was a villa over the two floors rather than a usual suite. There is a view over the garden and a private onsen in the villa - one inside and one outside. We’ve been served a traditional Japanese dinner and a breakfast in our dining room - a real treat!

We chose this luxury traditional hotel to end our two-week trip in Japan. We were not disappointed. Our room included half board. The room itself is spacious with an outdoor Onsen facing the greens. We are a couple from New Zealand. Beautiful views down the valley towards Kaga and up into the mountains towards Kakusenkai Gorge. Peaceful, quiet. Just be sure to arrange their shuttle from Kagaonsen Station if you are taking the trains to get here. It was supremely relaxing and we wished that we were staying for more than just the one night. We had the Kaiseki dinner and it was an incredible experience. 12 courses of local and seasonal food. Arranged by their head chef. The yukata they gave us to wear were comfortable and the whole experience was very rejuvenating.

We loved the old school vibe, the transport to the property, the onsens were great (the water one could be renovated a bit), the views are amazing. The tatami were great! Food was amazing! Please get the breakfast and dinner option because the last shuttle bus from the kagaonsen station is at 17h. We were sad we didn’t do that because the food was 10/10.

There was a bus stop right in front of the hotel, which is handy, and there was a convenience store kitty-corner. The bath water was also super hot, which I love. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very kind. No idea if they spoke English, but there were instructions in English for those who don't speak Japanese. Also, the futons were very thick for a ryoukan-styled hotel. If you're visiting the craft village, I recommend getting to Kagaonsen station the afternoon before and asking the info office about travel and coupons.
