David and his family are the loveliest people and hosts you could hope for. Their home has everything you need, a restaurant and small shop, comfortable beds and nice relaxing areas. They provide transport in their tuk tuk when you need (thanks Luis!) and David offers a tour to semuc champey (highly recommend, we had so much fun!). We felt so welcome and looked after here, couldn’t regard this place more highly.

There are places and people that are meant to be on your memories for a long time: mountain nest is one of them. I’ve traveled around, and visited many places. Yet, Semuc Champey, and mountain nest have definitely won a really special place close to my heart. The breathtaking view, the warmth of our host, the delicious food ( I’m Italian, and I can can be quite picky with food)… the peace. I cannot tell exactly what of these made so special this place, but there is something special about this place, which cannot be explained nor can emerge from pictures… you need to visit this place to realize how spectacular the accommodation and the atmosphere is. I still get goosebumps when I think about the sunrises my boyfriend and me have seen from the bedroom. What else made out stay unforgettable was our lovely guest remi! He made us feel at home and offered us great activities! We can definately recommend the cacao tours and the lunch by the neighbors (it’s a great first hand experience with the local community) I could write a book about the 3 wonderful days we spent in this remote place which we felt we have known forever from the first moment we arrive. Make time to come here, and trust me: you won’t regret it ❤️

The restaurant dit not have a lot of options, but the selection they had was broad and the food was really very good! The power in the village went out a few times, but they have a generator in the restaurant, so that is great!

Lanquin is a very small village but there’s a nice small restaurant across the street from the hotel

The restaurant/bar has enough to offer and for very affordable prices. Don't expect something from the village Lanquin itself because it has not much to nothing to offer. If you are coming to relax and enjoy the nature, and specifically the Semuc Champey then this is the perfect hostel to spent a couple of nights. Beautiful place to stay!

The photos do not reflect the beautiful view from the cabin and its special location. Remy and Darina make sure that your experience will be not less than amazing, they help with everything you want: Shuttles, tours, explanation of the village, etc.. and of course the food they cook at a very, very high level!
