Our stay in Kasa d'Vizin was above our expectations. Beautiful, comfortable, clean studio in a new guesthouse. The hosts and the ladies preparing and serving the food were absolutely nice and helpful. We were allowed to check in earlier on arrival and check out later on the day of departure. Stunning view over the Paúl valley from the rooftop terrace. Hike from Cova crater down to the guesthouse is a must despite the muscle pain and sore toes on the following day :) Definitely recommended!

Location is flawless - on a quiet street, but just off the main road. Aluguars stop virtually opposite the property and are very frequent, both going up the Paul Valley and along the coastal road. There is a little mini market just around the corner, open until 20:00. The owner is super - helpful and able to advise on all the best walks in the area. He suggested a much better walk than the one we initially wanted to do; he had maps and suggested places to eat. The room was very comfortable, clean, and the balcony was a nice bonus. The kitchen area is really nice, half al-fresco. All the staff were lovely and kind and very helpful. The internet works fine - there are 2 networks to choose from. I was also very grateful to have access to a guest fridge in the kitchen area. We regretted cancelling one of the 2 nights we'd initially wanted to stay and only staying 1. For bonus points, there is also a little 8-week-old puppy :)

Lady Danisia is an excellent host! Just like Santo Antão she is a wonderful, beautiful, natural & magical person. She helped me a lot with so many things. Her place has a super pleasant atmosphere and strategically it’s a very starting point. Every person in this small town is friendly by the way and there are some good places to eat.

An incredible host who runs the place from the genuine love for it! And she does excellent! Its not only all the languages she speaks but also the kindness and willingness to support in every sense of it. You will feel save and well taken care of! Casa Sams is an excellent place to discover the North-Eastern part of Santo Antao. The location is very convenient in the "centre"of Villa das Pombas and at the entrance of the Paul valley. Some small shops and restaurants are nearby. Daily evening life and tired hikers can nicely be observed from the balcony. The apartment itself is enormous (app 75m2) and spotlessly clean. The breakfast provided is copious,, In fact it was too much for us. Bernardo and Sandrina are very pleasant and forthcoming hosts. You can always knock on their door if you have a question or need.

We had a top floor room (with two big beds, superposed), with a big shared terrace. The room is big enough, simple but efficient for a holiday dedicated to hiking. The bathroom with the toilet and shower is big enough as well. Towels (big and few per person) were included. The place was clean enough, the girl was cleaning every day (not deep cleaning but a good refreshment). There are some good places to eat in the village (resto, local people).

We enjoyed being back after our last stay 7 years ago. The view was still amazing, the rooms comfortable, the dinner, breakfast and drinks (bissap!) very tasty, the staff and owner very friendly and the little village still charming. We were very lucky, because Charles the friendly dog of the casa chose to accompany us on our Pico d'Antonio-hike. The location is great. At the end or start of the hike to Cova, and the whole valley is at your feet. In the nearby village there are also some options for lunch or coffee or drinks.

Vitor is a lovely host, who will make you feel at home and will make you the best breakfast ever. Big plus if you like cats because he has 10 of them. Misurino is in the village of Paúl in a good location after you finish the hike of Cova do Paúl.

The guesthouse is conveniently located on the outskirts of village Eito and is a great starting point for many hikes in Santo Antao. The rooms are comfortable and clean, there is lots of greenery and fresh fruit - the breakfast was great! The owner and the housekeeper are both very nice and friendly. (There are also two little dogs living there who are super cute!)
