Sailing from morning until sunset was an enchanting experience filled with tranquillity and adventure. Equipped with a cosy blanket, pillow, mosquito net, and spray, every comfort was catered for. Our journey wasn't just about sailing; we stopped for refreshing swims and necessary toilet breaks along the way. What truly made this trip memorable was the opportunity to interact with the locals working in the fields alongside the Nile, engaging in conversations with farmers, and purchasing fresh vegetables for use in the meals on board. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were provided along with soft drinks. This was more than a sailing excursion; it was an adventure filled with breathtaking scenery and vibrant birdlife. From dawn till dusk, every moment was a reminder of the beauty and serenity of nature, making it an unforgettable experience.

Staying at Farah Camp (not a hotel or guest house, a felucca!) can be described as an unfiltered felucca experience with its positive and negative aspects. Let's start from the highlight, Mahmoud, an incredibly nice and smiling young man who is the captain, cook and tour operator of the boat. His positive energy will make your day! The felucca is directly on the Nile, just next to the Makani restaurant, and so, pretty conveniently located. We stayed two nights in Aswan as we did not want to leave the city, but you can arrange with them if you want to move. If you stay in Aswan, ask to move to another quieter location to sleep, as the original location can get pretty noisy overnight. For us it was the first experience on a felucca and we loved it. Having a coffee on the sundeck, slowly sailing down the Nile, or just looking out on the river life was a remarkable experience. There is a small stove on the boat, so Mahmoud can make you coffee or tea, or even cook you a dinner or lunch. The felucca has electricity, enough to charge your phone, but we would recommend to take a charged power bank.

The stay at Abdu’s houseboat was nothing but mind blowing. I stayed in the houseboat for 5 days with my mother. Abdu did not help us arrange everything in terms of tours (to Filae, Abu Simbel, a Nubian village, the botanical garden and more) and activities (Falluca sailing, Zaraha sand meditation, bird watching trip, exploring the Souk, swimming in the Nile, transfer to Luxor via Edfu and Kom Ombo and more), he also helped us with his second smaller boat to get everywhere, assimilate to the local culture by clothing and customs, cooked for us (he also made sure all food was well washed), helped us donate goods and clothes to the local school, and assisted us in getting tickets for the night train from Luxor to Caïro and simcards). His houseboat has everything you need for an authentic stay. Our cabin was spacious enough for the two of us and had an amazing view over the Elephantine Island. The terraces was facing the beautiful botanical garden on Kitchener Island. Due to the placement of the boat you have some shade in the morning and you can enjoy the sunset in the evening. If you look for a real experience and want to dive in the culture and day to day livestyle on the Nile, the boat is definitely something for you. We are truly great full for our experience and can definitely recommend a stay on this lovely houseboat!

was an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped onboard, we felt like royalty (though maybe slightly less formal—more like "pharaohs on vacation"). The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, solving any minor hiccups with a smile. When our room's A/C acted up, the crew responded faster than you can say "Cleopatra," ensuring we stayed cool and comfortable. The itinerary was perfectly planned, with visits to breathtaking temples like Philae, Kom Ombo, and Edfu. The guide was knowledgeable and had a knack for making history come alive with fun anecdotes—did you know the ancient Egyptians had their version of “weekend vibes”? The food was delicious, and the variety was impressive! Even my picky-eater companion was tempted to try dishes they'd never heard of before (spoiler: they loved everything). The highlight? Sailing on the Nile, sipping tea on the sundeck, and pretending to spot crocodiles (don't worry, none showed up). If you’re looking for an organized, relaxing, and fun-filled experience, this cruise is it. Bonus points for the company's comedic touch—every announcement came with a joke or a fun fact that kept the vibe light and enjoyable. Would I do it again? Absolutely! Though next time, I might try to bribe the captain for an extra day. 😉
