In the three weeks of our holiday in South Africa, in Western and Northern Cape and in the Great Karoo, nothing came close to our stay at De Bergkant. Nothing. It was delightful in every way possible and we've travelled to many around corners of the world. The are a few standouts and one of them has to be the absolutely lovely staff, especially Tracy, who anticipated our every need and who clearly has a wonderful rigour about how she manages the hotel. The property was an oasis of calm, care and beauty. Don't get me started on the breakfast... They were worth travelling 28 hours from New Zealand for! Absolutely exceptional, along with the breakfast room.

The room provided all the essentials, including a kettle and a private bathroom, and was impeccably clean. Despite a temporary power outage due to a storm, the owners ensured our comfort throughout our stay, which we thoroughly enjoyed. They were exceptionally helpful and kind, offering valuable tips to explore the area. The town exuded positivity, and the room's booklet listed numerous activities to enjoy locally and in the surrounding area. Following their suggestion, we savored the stars from the shared deck atop the accommodation, surrounded by stunning natural beauty.

The room was great, there was such eye for detail. Everything we needed was available. It was spacious and spotless. We had a verdana from which we were able to walk straight into the garden. The secure parking was also very convenient and close to the room. The guest house is conveniently located with different restaurants just next door.
