Nice, natural landscaping that let's you feel immersed in the Hawaiian rainforest. Feels very secluded and private, while also feeling safe and welcoming. Its walking distance to a black sand, clothing optional, beach. I will definitely book here again when visiting the Big Island. I would feel safe here as a solo traveler. Stephen greeted us when we arrived to the property and was so welcoming. I immediately felt at ease in his presence. He gave us a tour and showed us to our rooms, let us know how to reach him if we needed anything. Our smoke alarm was going off one night and he came right over, checked it out and swapped the battery, fixing the problem. I traveled with a friend and we each had separate rooms. The house feels more home like, relaxing front porch, solid wood furniture, and everything you'd need. Both rooms were clean and beds comfortable. At first, I thought my bed may be too soft, but I slept SO good and woke with no pains, feeling refreshed, so it must have been just right. Bath and beach towels were in our rooms, a bathrobe, a list of hosted and local activities we may be interested in, and a little bowl of snacks too. I also appreciated they had sunscreen and bug spray available.

All units will provide guests with a fridge. We had a lovely welcome from Andy and the directions we were given were perfect . The apartment was spacious , very well equipped and spotlessly clean . The sound of the waves from the nearby seashore was amazing .The location was perfect for visiting the volcano national park and we recommend joining a trip to the summit of Mauna Kea . We would highly recommend choosing to stay here and do go and look at the beautiful sunrise at the point about 2 minutes walk away .

Orchid tree is exceptionally beautiful, totally solar powered with a beautiful pool, hot tub and landscaping, a large lanai for relaxing and the room is truly large with lounge able furniture , pristine clean. Many places we’ve stayed give you pictures that don’t really represent the place when you arrive. However orchid tree is wonderful as are the hosts, both friendly and responsive ! Breakfast was just fine with fresh fruit, yogurt, granola and a good selection of Juices , breads, cream cheese, etc as well as freshly ground coffee. (Plenty for us but if you are an egg type there’s always places in town). But the lanai, the waves crashing, the superb coffee, we didn’t need more!

A good location for a hassle-free holiday in Hilo, Hilo Vacation Rental is a guest house surrounded by views of the city. The property features a garden, barbecue facilities and parking on-site among other facilities. It is situated 2.1 km from Rainbow Falls and features a housekeeping service. Lyman Museum & Mission House is 3.3 km away and The Pacific Tsunami Museum is 3.7 km from the guest house. Very bright and clean, everybody is very friendly and helpful! Feels like home :)
