One of my highlights of my 10 days of travel in Uganda was staying in Jinja at Home on the Nile. The location is incredible looking out over the water. It was very peaceful, and I loved relaxing and reading on the balcony. It's also close to the town centre and lovely cafes (for instance only a 20-minute walk or a very quick boda boda to The Deli). The staff were incredible -- extremely welcoming, kind, and helpful. They made my stay memorable and helped to organize a white-water rafting trip for me. If I'm back in Jinja, I will always try to stay here!

Certain units in the bed and breakfast have private entrance and are equipped with wardrobe and outdoor furniture. Some accommodation includes a terrace with garden views, a fully equipped kitchen and a private bathroom with shower. This was by far one of the best places I stayed in my 2 month East Africa trip. The owner guy from Zimbabwe does an excellent job with his team (except he never got back to me with his contact for the gorilla trekking in Congo, which in any case we couldn't do since they closed the park/border in Congo right before we were going to head there), but again I would like to give it to the kindness and politeness of the Ugandan people (the staff) that makes the difference for me. The food, drinks, the cleanliness of the room and the hotel grounds altogether way beyond African standards for the price they are charging. I wanted to stay longer but couldn't convince my travel partner who wanted to carry on with the itinerary sooner otherwise wonderful place to unwind, enjoy Jinja and its surroundings. Big plus: simply fantastic breakfast, the best we had in whole Africa (except if you are staying more than one night it is the same everyday and can be repetitive...)
