We had a great stay at Charity Pension House. The room is small but very clean and there is a kitchen to use for everyone. The breakfast is also very nice and a super fair price. Charity is so friendly and her dogs and cats are super cute. She also helped us with booking our transport to Puerto Princesa and was overall just lovely.

It's the first hotel you'll come across as you're hiking into Batad, which is fantastic, and after walking through the whole village, I wouldn't be surprised if it's one of the nicer guesthouses available. There is a communal dining/hangout area on the second floor of the property which has absolutely stunning views of the rice terraces, and the rooms are simple but surprisingly spacious and comfortable. The shared bathroom was much larger than expected and is kept clean. The menu was surprisingly large and we enjoyed everything we tried -- make sure to try the roasted rice coffee/tea! The property staff are also extremely kind and wonderful to talk to and learn from; they made our stay a joy. As a bonus, there were two playful kittens as well!

We could hear the waves from our room. - Great food (highlighting the Dutch pancakes :) ) - Great surfing lessons and rentals, best (only?) Surfing spot in the region - Quiet and long beach. We were able to go on a 10k run to see a few neighboring beaches, but you have to go over some rocks (nothing too sketchy) - Really kind people
