It is a Japanese traditional house homestay with tatami which located only 5 mins walk from the train station. We got a big room as there were 4 of us. The room is spacious which is sufficient to open all of our luggages. The owner Mariko-san is very friendly as she took good care of us. She drove us to the bridge and prepared different types of breakfast for 2 days. She also gave us souvenirs which made by herself. We felt like home throughout our stay.

We had the loveliest time at the Gableview Forest Inn. Satoshi and Elizabeth are so kind and helped us out hugely during our stay. Satoshi is an AMAZING cook. The food was incredible, so I definitely recommend having dinner at the inn! The room was super comfortable, it was great to have our own little kotatsu and the baths at the inn (both inside and the outside one with the forest view) were divine. If we are ever back in Nikko/Japan we will definitely stay again!

At the bed and breakfast, all units have bed linen and towels. Quiet place in the woods, not too far from the main road. Can be reached with a bus with 15 min walking from the closest stop, or by car (parking is available for free). Izumi-san is an excellent host. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure!
