I arrived late (around 22h30) and even though he likes to wake up at 4h30, we kept talking for about half an hour. Then, he goes: "do you want me to show you around?" >> he went on giving me a guided kuching tour in his car. He even wanted to buy me a drink but no shops were open at midnight. Besides this, he would leave traditional sweets for breakfast every day. Legend!!

The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and there was a lot of care and attention put into details to help people feel at home and comfortable. The pea flower tea welcome drink was extra special and really worked to rejuvenate us! The different spaces for guests to spend time outside their rooms were also appreciated (e.g the verandah, outdoor dining tables, chairs and hammocks by the pool, reading nook).

Guest rooms at Shalom Suites include air conditioning and a desk. I have been travelling for 3 years and this place was exceptional and probably the nicest place I’ve stayed. The rooms and whole place is beautifully decorated and the hotel sits amongst a spa. They also have a restaurant attached. The place is family run and you could really tell how much thought and effort everyone put into making the place what it is! Everything is perfect. Although it is located a bit further out the city don’t let it put you off because you feel like you are in paradise inside. I got a massage done, which included a sit down with the doctor to tailor the massage to my health and wellbeing :) Staff are amazing and really kind too.
