He gave us a map and several tips about the city, as well as coffee and cookies while we waited for the room to be ready. Every day, there were brownie-like sweets at reception, and in the room they replenished a bottle of water and a delicious chocolate daily. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and stocked with toiletries, and the shower worked very well (it was large, and the temperature control was excellent). The hotel is well located—25 minutes on foot from Princes Street, with a bus stop just a few steps away. Highly recommended.

And of course the conversations with Tom at breakfast. The location couldn’t be better, with a bus stop right outside and a walk along the Water of Leith leading to some great restaurants in Leith. We’d happily stay here again!

It was sad that I couldn't meet Elizabeth due to personal issues, but her daughter was excellent, and they gave me a non-required compensation for the breakfast.
