The setting is exceptional - there is no better place to hear and see the full spectrum of the jungle activity day and night. The new argentinian owner, Gonzalo, is fully dedicated to making this place an unforgettable experience for everyone. I especially appreciated all the eco-friendly touches he added to the main building. He is very consciencious and knows Costa Rica inside out. And If you don't usually like bunk beds, give this a try: the high wooden roof make the rooms feel very spacious, and the upper bunk is next to the windows screen and the jungle outside, with a net, privacy curtain, reading light and fan. Top confort. The general vibes of the hostel were chill, and guests were all happy to extend their stay. As a plus, the best grocery store in the region is just down the road.

Located within a few steps of Negra and 25 km of Jaguar Rescue Center, Casa Caribbean Coconut provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Cahuita. This beachfront property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a year-round outdoor pool. Breakfast was excellent. Restaurant was also excellent but not open all the time. Pool was a nice area to chill. Beach only steps away.

I look forward to returning for horseback riding in the near future.

A recently renovated bed and breakfast situated in Tortuguero, near Tortuguero Beach, Cabinas Tortuguero Sports Fishing features free WiFi, a private beach area and a garden. Staff on-site can arrange a shuttle service. Primo and his wife welcomed us perfectly, taking care of all our needs, recommending good restaurants and a tour guide. The tranquility and atmosphere around were exactly what we needed after landing in Costa Rica.

The air-conditioned units have a fully equipped kitchen with dining area, an oven, coffee machine, and a toaster. With a private bathroom equipped with a bath and bathrobes, units at the bed and breakfast also provide guests with free WiFi, while some rooms come with a balcony. At the bed and breakfast, each unit comes with bed linen and towels. This property was one of the best we have stayed in! The owners were super helpful and friendly, the place itself was very cosy, clean, quiet and serene. They had a very lovely dog called Luna who loved a tummy rub! The place is small and there are 3 cabins in total. This made it social in a nice way and we chatted to the other guests and it was just a really nice and calm place to be. The nature surrounding the property was lovely too! There was also a well equipped kitchen (we cooked in twice) and unlimited drinking water which was a nice touch. The rooms were very clean, cosy and they had really good air-con (which was needed as it was very hot when we stayed!)

At the inn, the rooms have a patio with a river view. Featuring a private bathroom with a shower and free toiletries, rooms at Cabañas Daneysha also feature a mountain view. All rooms at the accommodation have air conditioning and a wardrobe. The place is very nice. Gloria and Sergios are super friendly and helpful. Sergios brought us to do the canals tour and it was super interesting. He has a lot of knowledge of the surrounding area and he is very passionate about it. We strongly recommend the tour with him!

We loved the closeness to town and the bakery, as well as the discount at the bakery. It was a very cozy spot and the bedrooms were great and very comfortable.

We loved the location because it was quiet at night, only a 10 minute walk into town, and we felt very safe walking even at night. The parking area is enclosed so the car was secure. Nadia was a really wonderful host - very kind, gracious and helpful. The room was clean and well appointed. The room had its own mini-refrigerator plus we had access to a full outdoor kitchen, well-stocked with cooking supplies. We just loved lounging on our private balcony and at the shaded pool. The best part was that Black Bamboo provided free unlimited filtered water to drink and morning coffee. After traveling through Costa Rica and seeing how expensive things are (including water), we really appreciated being able to fill our water bottles there. Overall, this was a terrific experience and we'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
