Our stay at the Amazilia Guesthouse came close to perfection. The staff was friendly, the accomodation perfectly clean, with a working A/C and ample space to put your things. But it was the little things which really stood out in comparison to other accomodations in Costa Rica: the good toilet paper, as opposed to the one where you can see through. A hot shower with sufficient water pressure. A non-leaking shower cabin. Good light and a good mirror in the bathroom. A well-working and clean dustbin, where you don´t have to worry about your personal safety when putting the used toilet paper in. We even got a packed breakfast as we had to leave early on our last day. The location requires a car and is quite remote, but perfect if you plan accordingly and want to visit the (equally remote) Rincon de la Vieja National Park. All in all, highly recommended!

Great and super welcoming owners!! They are very helpful with all the local recommendations and are always there for the guests:) Simple, clean, cosy, great location and wonderful food!! It gets loud in the evenings, but earplugs are provided for those who want an early night - and they work so well! We enjoyed our stay very much!! Thanks to Augustin and all the stuff!!!

A great place and one of our favourite places we stayed at! You’ll see an amazing sunset and it’s perfect to have a few real es days. The location is a bit off the street in the mountain, so a 4x4 is needed or reach out to them before for a pick up. The whole house is clean, smells good and everyone’s nice. I can definitely recommend staying here!

The grounds of the lodge are fabulous. There is plenty to explore, with an orchid garden and the Ceiba Tree overlooking the property. The breakfast was really nicely done, with a fabulous set-up of the flowers hanging down from the roof of the place. Also overlooking the Lake Arenal, and a feeding station for birds. Fresh coffee brewed the original way at the table. We also got our laundry done by the hosts, which was really handy, great value and done with more care than dedicated businesses for it. We paid extra for the room with a terrace, and it was worth that for the view and sitting out.

A lovely place to stay in San Jose! Very close to the beach. both the room and the bathroom were clean and comfortable, and it had air conditioning. The breakfast is delicious, the best we had during our 2-weeks travel around Costa Rica! We haven’t dined in the restaurant there but the bar in the garden is great! Especially that there is not really where to go around town after dark (which is a big advantage as Puerto Carrillo is calm and peaceful) :) And last but not least, very kind and helpful staff!

Beautifully located in the middle of the jungle with great jungle view from the infinity pool. Spacious and nicely decorated bungalow. Good breakfast, also with the jungle view. Well maintained. Friendly owners, that can give good advice for restaurants.

Beautifully appointed and clean room with comfortable sheets and bed, and lovely fluffy towels (bath and pool/beach). Incredible French style breakfast - an absolute highlight of the day! Lovely pool and garden area, and location is just ten minutes outside of Tamarindo, so perfectly away from the hustle and bustle. Very helpful and friendly staff

Everything. Des hôtes professionnels, gentils, attentionnés, by far far far the best night and day we had in costa rica. You will feel like home and in the heart of costa rica at the same time. Trully amazing breakfast and room/house. Everything is well tought, i am sure this is the best place to stai in whole costa rica, all that for a very modest price.
