First of all: A great host. Second: A great chef. Third: A great advisor. Obviously, that’s all one guy, Tinnie. We really enjoyed staying at the 57. Location was perfect for getting to the Addo Elephant park in the morning. Room was comfy and well equipped including some sweet frosted muffins. Breakfast was great, but be warned. Tinnie’s rule: Nobody leaves before everything is finished. (Some irony might be included) We also got some great safety advice for travelling to and from the park.

Is was great we felt home right away. The hotel manager was the most nice and hospital person with wonderful recommendations and tips. She took great care of us. Breakfast was great, location is very convenient towards addo elephant park (South Gate) with shop, restaurant at walking distance. Beds were very good, WiFi was good. I would definitely come back.

Happy Jackal is conveniently located 2 km from the South Gate to Addo National Park.

The hosts are such nice and friendly people! We could do the fantastic Addo Tour with Tim and Suzette and spent practically the whole day together. We even tried the plant "spekbuam" and liked them! Right at the beginning of our Gardenroute-trip, Suzette and Tim gave us also a lot of valuable information about SA and made us feel at home. What a great experience!

Location was great for ado elephant park and scotia safari. Southern entrance to ado is about 2 miles away. Scotia about 15 minutes drive. Port Elizabeth airport about 30 mins away. Property was in a safe location and rooms were great. If we were to go again, we would stay at least 3 nights and go to ado on day one and scotia on day 2. Property owner was great.

Our stay at Addo River Den in Colchester was an absolute dream. Celebrating our first-year anniversary, we were greeted with a cozy room, clean sheets, and an outdoor fireplace that set the perfect mood. The hosts were incredibly friendly and made sure we felt right at home. The cherry on top was the amazing breakfast included in our package, featuring freshly baked scones, flapjacks, and a well-stocked coffee station. The variety of cheeses and jams made each morning delightful. When my car broke down, the owner was a real lifesaver, offering assistance and a great conversation. Addo River Den is truly a gem, and we can't wait to return.

The property is in a secure complex, the room was very clean and comfy, with all the amenities you would need. The jacuzzi and fire was also an added bonus and a great end to a day! The hosts were very helpful, it was a very lovely stay we wished we could have stayed longer!

100 out of 10! Pictures don't do it justice. It's peaceful, perfect for my little family. Rooms are very spacious, Mel and Lerato are very friendly and accommodating. I can not think of one bad thing. I hope more people find and get to experience this gem!

The owners clearly take pride in the property. It is very clean and well maintained. It is also very secure. After hours the property is very well secured. It is also very quiet. I was able to unwind in peace. Breakfast was outstanding. I felt at home throughout.
