The family that takes care of the casa is so nice! They had stocked the pantry with all the essentials and more. Fresh oranges to make juice, hams cheeses, etc. I also loved the breakfast basket in the morning. So thoughtful. The room is big, plenty of space to be comfortable. If I go back to the Douro valley one day, that's where I want to stay.

Casa do Arco is a memorable place located 5 minutes away from the town of Pinhão (by the Douro river), that I'd 100% recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful yet luxurious place to relax and enjoy the sights. The house is located on a hill, with magnific views towards the Douro valley, and possesses only 3 rooms, providing that intimate and private feeling. The house is perfectly architectured, with slight resemblances to alpine wooden chalets. The room provides panoramic views towards the valley (river included). All room components are of top quality and the bed is super comfortable. The outside space provides the perfect spot for relaxation, while enjoying the views and drinking a glass of Port wine. It also offers a small swimming pool. I'd also strongly suggest anyone who stays in Casa do Arco to book a table at the restaurant at least once. The dinner was superb, and please do choose the Vaca Gallega (matured beef steak). It was one of the best meat meals I ever had in my entire life. The owner and collaborators will go the extra mile to provide you the best stay possible, and I can only say that we will definitely be going back to Casa do Arco when we visit the Douro Valley in the near future.
